RME roofing gave me a contract to completely cover my triangular roof area above my front door with ice shield. Robert Eli said that he would install new drip edges on both gutters leading into front side of home. He refused to install the drip edges even though I paid for this work to be done. RME roofing only repaired one side of the triangular roof even though I paid for the both sides to be redone.
Robert then kept my full payment without reimbursing me for the work that was not needed in his assessment. I basically paid for a complete coverage of ice shield and water protection but only got half of what I paid for.
I paid for a complete job regardless of whether I needed it or not and RME Roofing did not honor the contract. Then the workers found other areas on the roof needing repair and I got charged an extra $300 dollars for this work. These extra areas were still part of the original work scope in the contract but he charged me anyway.
As for professionalism, RME Roofing came to my house a day before the agreed upon work date and began work on the roof. Robert Eli and his crew basically trespassed onto my property without letting me know. He claimed he did work on the day no one was home. But I have know way of knowing for sure what was done because he was only there for 45 minutes and then left. Then he refused to show me proof of the work that was completed on Friday when no one was home.
He was supposed to come back to the house on Sunday to complete the remaining work and to show us how he fulfilled the contract. The contract stated that h is crew come back on Sunday and do an extra section of the roof for an additional $400 dollars. Robert Eli agreed to this and he shook my hand and said he would be back the next day on Sunday at 8:30am in the morning. He never showed up and he never called to cancel or reschedule the appointment. He basically took the bulk of my money and ran. I tried several to times to call him but he never picked up his phone or is cell phone. My wife was able to talk with Robert's wife and express our concerns about Robert's poor handling of the job and his wife assured us that Robert would call us back. He never called and he never showed up at the house to complete the work.
I have never in my years of working with contractors had someone shake my hand and give me there word that they would do something and to then be stood up. It was a horrible experience and very unprofessional for any contractor to do to this. I was able to speak with one of Robert's workers and he too was surprised at how badly Robert conducted himself.
