McCollister's Transportation Group Inc

Terrible at communicating and coordinating. Only gave me a half hour notice for my vehicle delivery, then charged me hundreds for storage and redelivery since I couldn't receive the vehicle on such short notice (it was a weekday afternoon and I was at work). Of course, they didn't mention the fees on the phone when they offered to reschedule. Complete money grab and worst vehicle transport experience of my life. Do yourself a favor and use a different company. I wouldn't trust McCollister's to transport my garbage to the dump.

Filled out the contact form on their website; got an email bounced back that the destination address doesn't exist. The bounce message came from Google Mail. Given a previous reviewer's comments about difficulty in contacting McCollister's via phone, this is especially worrying. It tells me that they don't have a dedicated email infrastructure of their own, and they aren't maintaining their website. If they're not minding these details in this day and age, what other details will they miss? I'm a computer professional; this sort of thing generally translates to sloppy service in my experience. I'll pass on getting a quote from McCollister's. If they make it difficult to even start the process of handing them money for services, they obviously don't want the money that badly.

It was extremely difficult to contact Mccollisters since it seems as if it has a single phone number to handle a lot of different businesses. The people who answered phones were very cryptic and it took several questions on my part to find the right person. Once in contact with the movers portion of McCollister they gave me an appointment about three weeks later than the other mover. I finally cancelled the appointment which once again required going through a very confusing phone answering process.

Overall the move went extremely well. The estimate by John was quick and easy and so was the move. Three guys moved our stuff, all of which were extremely professional. My only complaint would be with the scheduling communication. I took a couple unanswered calls to make the estimate appointment without a call back from the scheduling person. Same scenario during my attempts to schedule the date of the move. I also didn't receive a call the night before the move like I was told to expect until I called the person who gave me the estimate on his cell phone after business hours. I coincidentally got a call from the scheduler immediately after speaking to John telling me the same thing.

I chose them because they had high ratings on Angie's List. I also got recommendation for them from someone that I don't remember. They were very good. Their pricing was good. Their service people were very good, very personable and very friendly. The person who represented them was also very good. They took care of it even though it was a last minute work. They were professional and punctual. There were two little issues that bothered me but the whole crew seemed to work out the issues that they had.

The estimator and scheduler were very accommodating, and followed up prior to and just after the moves to ensure all was well. The three assigned movers themselves could not have been better. They were polite, neat, and moved everything with care. They were on time and worked very well together. The set the furniture where my daughter wanted it to be and put certain pieces back together (for example, shelves within dining room furniture, bed frames, etc.) with ease. These two moves could not have gone smoother.
