 + -1 moreFirst thing, Wayne gave me a price for the job he showed up on time but we had some issues moving the machine. He wound up using my brand new winch as his was broken (shouldn't have taken the job from the start) and then we got the machine moved to my house. At the end of all of it he then told me that he's an hourly guy and it took him longer than he expected. We never discussed time or anything hourly. I was an idiot to pay him what he asked. I did however want to give him a little more since we did run into some issues but for a $430 job to all of a sudden cost $675 was just plain WRONG!! If this guy is such a great Excavator and landscaper why is he moving heavy equipment around during the week? Shouldn't he be booked up with jobs? Buyer beware, I was fooled into thinking I was getting a good deal and at the end of the day paid way more than the other guy who had a working winch.

 + -1 moreHe was very thorough. I got him out of the Yellow Pages and took a shot at it and he was very thorough and very meticulous. He was a bit high strung maybe but other than that, he got the job done and moved we were very satisfied with his service. He came out and rectified it. He's a very good contractor. We called him and he's looked it over and he was there within the week so that was okay with us. He was only here two days. It was all done within two days. For the two days, he was punctual. Everything was fine.
Description of Work: We used Mallen Excavating. We had a big problem with our drainage. We had a flooding in the basement. He excavated from the foundation to the street and he put in new pipe and checked the valve.

Description of Work: Mallen was excellent - superb. All we could have hoped for, at a most reasonable price. Highly recommend. He worked with us on the estimate, came to the site (our backyard), talked over everything we needed, options, etc. Then very soon afterwards, dug the (large) hole we wanted to build a water gardens, exactly to our specifications, and my active discussion and direction throughout the dig. Not all contractors will work like this. Mallen was excellent, all the way around.

Description of Work: Contacted vendor for estimate. Called when he should have been at my house to say that he was late. I postponed the visit until the next day. He came on time and said I would hear back from him in 2 days. It is now 10 days later and I have not heard from him. I will not be using him for the work.
