Description of Work: This cost was mostly covered by insurance after we had a fire in my dining room. I used this company before to clean my stone floors and when I found their card I discovered that they cleaned everything. They cleaned all the furniture, appliances, walls, floors,draperies, upholstered couches etc. to a fine tooth comb. I was thrilled using them. It is a family run business not a franchise. Description of Work: DOWN TO EARTH CLEANING SERVICES 55 VANWAGNER RD, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY 12603 Father and son team were very congenial and knew I was very frightened with the mess from the washing machine leak. They were sensitive to my whole ordeal. They did not move all the furniture that they should have. So they went around a lot of the obstacles. There was also the smell of cat urine. I was told they use a certain shampoo that has a very clean smell. That was all well and good. The rug was looking like new................. BUT when it dried the stains came back and the odor permeated the entire house. I can still smell the urine.

Description of Work: Our house is a 2,000 sq. ft. raised ranch. Floors are laminate wood, ceramic tile, and a small amount of carpet. It's 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/dining/living rooms plus a sunroom upstairs and a full basement w/laundry room and exercise room downstairs. We wanted someone to come in and clean the top floor thoroughly and do a quick vacuum/dusting downstairs. After the initial complete cleaning, we hoped we would be happy with them and they would come back on a monthly basis. The biggest issue was dust and cat fur. Things like couches, refrigerator, and many bookshelves (full of knick-knacks) had never been cleaned behind; 4 ceiling fans and all ceiling light fixtures had never been cleaned. For many years, only surface cleaning had been done thoughout the house. They cleaned from floor to ceiling upstairs. The kitchen was cleaned to perfection; it is spotless. Counter-tops, outside of cupboards, stove, refrigerator, inside and out of microwave, even the bowls containing fruit and vegetables were cleaned. All furniture was moved and vacuumed behind, including full bookshelves. All ceiling fans were cleaned and all ceiling light fixtures were removed and cleaned. They even cleaned the filters of the bathroom fans. Amazingly, all items on 8 large (floor to ceiling) to small (3 or 4 shelf) bookshelves including collectibles and knick-knacks, were removed and dusted individually. Floors were vacuumed and mopped clean; upholstery was vacuumed and cleaned; windowsills were cleaned; cobwebs removed. I don't know what more I can say except that upstairs EVERYTHING was cleaned. They also did things which weren't part of the initial "contract": a ceiling light fixture was broken in the guest room; they fixed it after cleaning it. Cleaning the filters of the bathroom fans was over and beyond the scope of the work. Also, we had areas in the hallway and master bath where the walls needed special cleaning work due to moisture and cigarette smoking which had been done by the previous owners. They cleaned the cigarette residue area and worked on the moisture damage in the master bath. In addition, we asked questions about how to clean the upholstery in the den (cat damage on the couch). They gave us some great advice. Downstairs, to keep the price down, we didn't ask for a thorough cleaning, and were told when they came out to do the estimate that they would just straighten up the two rooms we used the most. They did that, plus they vacuumed the whole basement area including the exercise room and equipment.

Description of Work: Ed suggested and I agreed to mold remediation on the paneling in one room and on a small portion of cement block wall and cement floor in another area. The remediation was to be followed by painting the panneling with a "sealing" paint, the concrete block/cement floor with shur lock and painting the concrete floor in the room with the paneling. In the room with the paneling, I chose a pale grey wall color. the ceiling was supposed to be ceiling white. The floor was the usual concrete grey. We agreed that the quarter round molding between the walls and the ceiling would remain unpainted as would the cabinets and sink at one end of the room. The other space was just to be cleaned, mold removed and painted with white surelock.

Description of Work: Based on the reports on Angie's List, I called Down to Earth Cleaning Services and set up and appt with the owner, Ed and his son. We walked through the house and basement, detailing the work to be done. Within a day, he had an estimate to us and we accepted it. Even though the work turned out to be more of a chore than he expected, Ed stuck to his original price. He and his crew showed up on time, cleaned and emptied out our basement, carted away the junk, stripped off the paneling and painted the walls with a sealant after bringing in a heavy duty dehumidifier and fan to ensure the walls were properly dried out. In addition, he worked on the downspouts of our gutters so that the water would be led away from the house. His crew also did a spring cleaning on our house and did a top notch job.
