The Eds , my name for the family that runs this business (many are called Ed) have made me so happy once again. This time the owner Ed and his brother Kevin came and I left the house for a Doctor's appointment....-they are so professional I had no concerns with leaving them in my house. I have used Down to Earth before and every time, I am impressed, especially days later when I notice some small extra thing they have done. It always puts a smile on my face. This business truly is an old fashioned family business and I have meet many of them. Every experience has been professional and they always exceed my expectations. They even arrive early. I am never made to wait and they work until the job is finished. My dog actually adores them too because they vacuum all his toys and put them back in his toy box for fun later! If you are looking for honest, hardworking people who do a great job. This is the company for you.

I have used Ed and Down to Earth Cleaning for over one year. I hired them for a house cleaning and they have been coming back ever since every other week. The staff is professional, good at what they do and if there is every an issue or question, Ed is always available to speak with. Prompt and curteous service.

I have always been very happy with Down To Earth Cleaning. Please see the details above for specific job information. I am unaware of any Dos and Don'ts other than just knowing what it is that you would like to have done, so as you can accurately explain it to Ed, who will then be able to evaluate how large of a crew he will need for the job and what kind of vehicle he will need to use. Again, I have found his prices always to be fair and reasonable. Plus, and this is a big plus, I trust Ed and his family in my home!

We reviewed Down to Earth a year ago after using them for a top to bottom move-in cleaning service. They did an amazing job and we have continued to use them for routine cleaning every three weeks. We have nothing but good things to say about Ed and his crew of professionals. They do a great job for us and trust that they will continue to feel like a part of the family. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

He was extremely thorough, inexpensive, honest and really good. He put something in the carpet to disinfect because there were animals in the front to where we lived in. There was a lot of animal hair. The carpet smells great and looks great. He did a great job and cleaned a lot of the stains up. He is punctual in returning calls. I would definitely use him again and I would definitely recommend him to anybody.

It makes me sad to have to amend my earlier review but I have used this service many times and each time they got worse. At the end of a cleaning Ed would decide to tack on more money for the final cost without warning me this would be the case in advance. The cleanings were not thorough and other then the kitchen it didn't feel much cleaner in here then it did before they came, window sills not done, no dusting, nothing was moved in order to vacuum. I have three animals so a good vacuuming is important. Worst of all they put things in random places making it hard to find anything it's been over a month and I am still looking for several personal things of value.

It took a little while to set up the initial meeting with Ed to provide a quote; he'd been having some family issues that interfered, but once I was able to get in touch, he was very apologetic and made it clear that he was willing to accommodate my schedule to come out and look around. I had some work to do in terms of picking things up/organizing etc before he could do the initial cleaning, so I did that and made an appointment a few weeks later. Ed and two others arrived promptly at 9, when they said they would, and spent the next four hours cleaning. The difference is staggering, and my girlfriend, who all the cleaning was for, was delighted; she was in despair about the state of certain parts of the condo, and said they'd cleaned things she had no idea how to approach. We plan to continue using their services.

Down to Earth responded quickly to my request for an estimate. Ed did a through walk through before giving me his estimate, discussing what needed to be done in each room. He and his crew showed up ready to work and did a thorough, efficient job.

It took them several days because that was what the job demanded but the result was a life changer, suddenly I could find things again and the house and rugs smelled clean and fresh. It's a family owned and operated business so four of them came and worked tirelessly until the job was done. They are efficient organized, accommodating and everyone was very kind and easy to have around. It was a great experience and they now clean my house on a regular basis. I call them the cleaners with a heart and I can't recommend them highly enough.

He came on time with his crew and was very professional. He has attention to detail and takes pride in the work that he does. We would use them again. I recommend them highly.

I had house guests and when they left I decided that I didn't feel like cleaning the whole house by myself so I called a few companies to see if somebody could come out the same day and clean. Down to Earth Cleaning Services was able to come out within a few hours of my phone call. They were supposed to be at my house at 11 am but showed up around 11:15 am. It was one guy that came to do everything which was a little surprising because in the past with other companies they have always sent 2 people. Anyway, the guy was friendly and he got right to work. It took him a little over 2 hrs to finish my house which was also surprising since the other company I have used sends 2 people and it takes them 2 hrs. After he left I checked everything and it just wasn't cleaned to my standards. There were streaks on all the faucets, one of the toilets looked like it had not been cleaned, and he used a wood oil on all of my furniture even though some of it already has a high gloss so the wood oil just sits on top. I had to go back through and fix a lot of things and I had to wipe the wood oil off. Also, I asked not to have the kitchen cleaned because I had already cleaned it that morning but he did anyway and left streaks on the stove and kitchen sink as well. Overall, I would not use this company again.

One positive I must mention in my review is that they took great care in moving valuables around to clean (such as in our dining room - moving some China and that kind of thing). Nothing got broken! :) Unfortunately, there were some things which I was not happy with and I feel I should mention: They left dishes unwashed on one side of the kitchen sink - also took my dish sponge with them (not a huge deal, but kind of annoying - I'm sure they didn't realize they did this, but they should be using their own supplies for everything, right?). I found that after spending $600+ dollars (which I paid in cash by the way), to leave dishes undone was unprofessional. Additionally, there were some areas they missed, which unfortunately I didn't notice until after they left. For example, the master bedroom bed, which is actually on casters so it rolls easily, was never rolled out of the way - so basically there was quite a bit of dust missed underneath the bed because underneath the bed wasn't vacuumed. Though I took time to make sure the storage container which is usually kept under that bed was moved out of the way before they got there, they didn't roll the bed out of the way to clean thoroughly underneath. This is a pet peeve of mine. Also, they asked me in advance when working out the estimate if I wanted the air conditioning window unit removed since they were going to be cleaning the window anyway, and I said yes. The unit was not taken out (nor was that window thoroughly cleaned).They did a pretty good job with most of the floors, but there were some areas which I felt were not thoroughly dusted (such as some of the baseboards and moldings in the living room). At first, I thought their price was a rather fair price before they came to do the work. After they left, I realized they missed a number of things (such as leaving a couple of pots in the kitchen sink and some of the carpets not put back etc.), they had spent less than five hours there with three people total. That means they are getting close to $50/hour PER PERSON?!? I happen to think that is a little bit ridiculous - this was not a house which was filthy by any standards and they were doing basic things. $50/hour EACH is a bit high for housekeeping, no? I have not called them back - despite their doing a very good job with cleaning the ceiling fans and dusting light fixtures. For $50/hour (or $150/hour for their group), I would rather do that job myself. One last thing, I think when you give someone an estimate, it should be in writing and I also think you should be given a receipt after handing someone that amount of cash. I didn't get a written estimate nor did I get a receipt. This is why I graded a little lower for professionalism. I do wish to mention that it is refreshing to be able to hire a cleaning team where all of the employees speak english. There is nothing worse than trying to give someone directions regarding how you would like something done in your home and have them not understand what you're saying. This was a family run business. Father and his kids. Very nice people indeed and if it weren't for the few things above that I mentioned which I found unsatisfactory, I would have hired them again to do the interior. I would consider using this company in the future, but wouldn't pay them to the inside of the house, but would hire them to do things like exterior window cleaning and maybe yard cleanup and that kind of thing. I think I may be a little too particular about interior details to hire them for the inside work. I felt like they rushed out of there because it was a Saturday and they told me they had to get to another job that afternoon, but on the phone I was told they would take 'as long as it takes to get the job done'. I sort of felt like they shouldn't have overbooked themselves that day. This was really a job that should have taken 8 hours, not 4-1/2, which is how long they spent cleaning.

The crew arrived on time but had been misinformed about the nature of the job -- they had been told it was a move-in and there would be no furniture. They took it in stride and worked really hard. They dusted baseboards, washed down the outside of the kitchen cabinets, did a great job on the floor with a Dyson vac, dusted the ceiling fans. Pleasant, intelligent crew, one man and one woman. Professional and really smart at finding the places to clean beyond the usual that would make the house sparkle. I have a call in to set them up as a permanent service. The one downfall is that calls aren't always returned promptly, but that's been my experience with a number of services and this is the best one I've ever seen.

Okay at first the then owner was rude. The other cleaning they did was adequate. They accused me of asking "too much" because I wanted the dishes and laundry done!

I was all excited to hire these people, since they are have such good reviews and were nice on the phone. But after around 10 phone calls and no visit for an estimate, I gave up. I do want to say that it seems oddly difficult overall to get people to show up and give an estimate. I am going to start writing reviews of companies that set up times and do not show up because that should be something people are aware of.

Ed O'brien and son Ed came out on May 2, and Estimated the cost. Granted we have a very old fixer upper that is a work in progress. 2 cats and we work way too much.....We made an appointment. for May 8. Left for work @ 5 am and came home @ 3:30. I could not believe my eyes and the smell was so clean...They did my whole bottom floor. Wood floors, windows, nic nacs, window sills (inside and out), all the wood furniture, couch, mirrors.... Top to bottom spring house cleaning.... The kitchen and bath, cleaned the fireplace and some extra stuff that we did not talk about. They work quickly, sometimes to a fault, but whenever they miss something, we only mention once the problem and the next month is better. We wish that the scheduling was more concrete, sometimes we aren't sure when we will get a call to set up the appointment. We wish it could be a set date every month.. But to be fair, we haven't pressed them for that yet. We plan to change from once every 4 weeks to once every 3 after the next visit.

They arrived promptly as scheduled and did an excellent job cleaning. My house was in dire need of a thorough cleaning and they did exactly as contracted.

They were very good in getting back to me and even showed up a little early, but they were rushed and not thorough.

They are excellent. Ed O’Brien (the owner) is phenomenal. The service is excellent and the price is extraordinarily reasonable. They are reliable and honest as can be. They don’t break anything, and leave your house exactly as they found it. They do a really thorough cleaning every time. He has a great staff and I’m very happy with their services.
