My wife and I met with a few contractors to gut our basement and install a new bathroom. We knew pretty quickly Michael was the right contractor for the job. He replies quickly and is thoughtful about his suggestions - and knows how to do the right work to optimize budget. The basement was renovated quickly and looks fantastic! Michael can do plumbing and electric so you don't need to wait around for someone's else's time and opinions. He is super buttoned up and his work is high quality. We recommend him to anyone looking for a solid dude to do solid work on a schedule and stay on budget.

Mike and his team were professional, attentive and reasonably priced. Within 8 days (including some time put in on the weekend), Mike did a complete demo and rebuild of our main bathroom including Vanity, Tile, Bath, Toilet, Floors etc. I asked a few local contractors for pricing, ideas, timelines etc. and after speaking with them I didn't get a great feeling that they were simply going to "take care things" the way Mike and the team made me feel. My wife and I did not want to worry about timing, disruption, and decision at all if possible, and he understood our needs better than I could have hoped. My family was around most of the days he was working and felt safe, respected, and appreciated throughout the process. Perhaps the best quality of his service was his dependability (he showed up on time every morning he said he would) and integrity. We had a couple of items delayed in shipment like the mirror above the vanity. Though we were nervous at first, we paid Mike in full the day he completed everything other than the items still being shipped. I got home from work after we made the final payment and my wife and I discussed a few things that we didn't think of initially that we thought would really make the bathroom feel like home, the biggest of which was a back-splash behind the vanity with the accent tile we had leftover from the shower. When the mirror arrived, I called Mike and told him the idea, asking if he wanted more money because it wasn't part of the contract. Not only did he say "no way," he came the next day, took care of that mirror, the back-splash and a few other items we had dreamed up over the night we had to think about it. My only recommendation would be that he might want to start partnering with a design company for bigger projects when appropriate. My wife and I are absolute newbies at remodeling work, and we were looking for insights on "what looks good" and Mike was able to contribute (an inlet in the shower tile was a great bonus and looks awesome) but we were hoping for more. This is a shallow criticism considering we had hired him to build a bathroom, not design one, but my thought was that it might have been worth some extra money to get real insights from a designer early in the process, while still maintaining a budget of under 10k from soup to nuts. Mike and CHI are great, I would recommend them to anyone.

I had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Kraemer and his business, CHI Construction, through Home Advisor. My first project was a total rehab of my home kitchen--floors, walls, paint, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, appliance installation and tile backsplash. Mike takes pride in his work, and it shows. He is a pro through and through, but more than that, he is personable, responsive, and flexible. And his crew, including Sonny and Tamara, were also a pleasure. Also, Mike offers advice on placement, color schemes, and practicality. Without question, I highly recommend CHI Construction!

Mike Kramer at CHI Construction did an amazing job on the renovations in our Kitchen, Bathroom and throughout the house. We were not able to be in town for this remodel, so we depended on him to do the job on a timely basis, and stay in touch with us. Under these circumstances, we could not have been happier. He did everything he said he would do and more, and completed the job on time. He gave us ideas as he went along. We were always confident that he was handling things for us. We would highly recommend him. Excellent job!

They worked fast and efficentally and they were cheaper than other bids. Affordability was great as well.
