Kevin one of the owners gave me an estimate of $800 to remove a tree. When Kevin and his brother Peter arrived to remove the tree Peter said we can’t do it for that price the charge is $1600. I own my own business and have never had someone double the price the day of the job. When a company gives an estimate they should have the integrity to stand behind the estimate they give not try and scam the homeowner And increase the price of the job that they estimated on the day of removal. I would never recommend them

Pete only finished half the job. We have called him several time to come back - he didn't realize we wanted more to be done?? I mean after a tree falls in your pool and yard I was pretty specific about what I wanted down. Crystal clear. He said he had to come back. I didn't want to pay him in full but my husband did and now we havent seen him and it has been over a month since he came. I am so tired of poor business. It is a shame that it's hard to find someone honest. We have used him in the past and I like to continue with someone I know. However he was supposed to remove two holly trees several years ago and left me with the root? what do I do with this. The machine couldnt get to it? don't people know the job and all the particulars before it begins...... I must be hoping it's 1950. Probably going to move on from PK tree.

The date and price are approximate since it was a while ago and I don't remember the exact numbers. I had used this company a few times prior dating back into the 1990's and they had done good work so I did not hesitate to use them again on this occasion. Pete called on short notice and wanted to do the work on a Friday afternoon apparently after another job in the morning. Undortunately, I could not be present as I had to work. Since he had done good work in the past I was not overly worried. That was a mistake. When I checked on the job after work, I found that some of the specified limbs were not cut and the stumps had not been removed. Worse, he had apparently pulled his trucks up onto the lawn and done a very nice job of trenching the lawns in two spots. One of the trucks leaked hydraulic fluid onto the lawn. Remnants of those trenches are still there today. It seemed clear the problem was that the job was done in a hurry. I immeidtaley called his office and left a message outlining the issues and asking him to call me. He never returned my call. I will say that he did send someone back a few days later to grind the stumps. He never did take care of limbs he missed. I ran into him on the streets of Port Jefferson one Saturday night and he clearly thought he had done a wonderful job. I did not want to start an argument on a social occasion but his reaction to my curt response clearly disabused him of the notion that I might agree with him.

We were pleased with them. He did what he was supposed to do and I thought the price was fair. I got him from the sign that was put in the neighborhood. We are retired but we try to do most of the work ourselves. We were happy with them.
