His quote was way too high so we ended up doing it ourselves. He quoted $4,000 and we did it for $600 ourselves. We want to thank him for the incentive. We had the feeling that he would do the work. It wasn't that much work but he wanted to be compensated for it so maybe that's why the quote was so high. We thought he was overpriced so we would probably not use him in the future.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!!! A-1 roof and the whole crew were awesome. They finished the work in a matter of hours. Everyone was professional, courteous and made things so easy for me. The proprerty was spotless when they were done. I could not have asked for a better experience and would recommend this company to everyone.

I was very impressed with the level of professionalism, reliability and competence from the initial visit to the very end. I live in a private community managed by an HOA. John (the owner) kept in good contact with me from the time I notified him of the board's approval to the day before the work began. The work was also completed during the time John estimated when I notified him of the approval. On the day of the job, they were very prompt. John told me to expect them at 7:30, and the doorbell rang at 7:15. Within minutes, his crew was busy at work. They did a great job throughout. Not only am I very satisified with the quality of the workmanship and materials used, but they took care to protect the exterior of my home and surrounding shrubbery. Their clean-up was thorough too, in spite of the fact that they had to endure a 15 minute, absolute downpour of rain in the middle of it. Like one of the workers joked with me after they finished cleaning up .. "It's like we were never here." That's true, except for the beautiful new roof they left behind! :) My neighbors think it looks great too.

Team arrived promptly. Spent the day doing the job with minimal interruption. Completed & cleaned up in one day.

Arrived on time (7:30 AM) with a number of workers. Ripped off the old roof, replaced flashing, replaced several rotted plywood sheets, added weather watch rain and ice shield and starter strips. Brought their own truck in which to put all the old materials. Swept, blew all areas so that there was no mess when they finished (at noon!). Excellent, professional job from friendly family company and the price ws very competitive. We were impressed.

I was very pleased with the professionalism of John Jr. and his crew and John's willingness to thoroughly answer all my questions and to explain what needed to be done and why. The original estimate for the roof and replacement skylight was $7000 with the inclusion of up to 5 sheets of plywood. My roof needed 34 sheets which was understandable given the age of the house and the fact that the original roof had never been removed. In addition, the chimney had no original flashing. That was done along with a new roof cap vent with the installation of soffit vents all around. When I got home from work the only evidence any work had been done was the new roof itself. I'm very happy with the job they did.

The A1 Roofing staff (11 people) were extremely professional and did a fantastic high quality job. They showed up exactly on time at 7:30 AM to start the rip-off. A truck was backed up in our driveway close to the roof and old roofing materials were tossed directly into the truck. This was great because there was no dumpster involved and no damage to the driveway. The entire job included an extensive clean-up was completed by 3:00 PM. The A1 staff did an outstanding job and I would recommend this contractor to anyone.

A-1 came over to do an estimate early in the A.M. day after I called. The rep. helped me understand how to discuss the work with my insurance company. They came to the house to fix the leaks the day after I told them I was ready (after insurance was worked out), so you could say as fast as you could ask for. They cleaned up very thoroughly. The bill was exactly what the estimate was. It's rained quite a bit since then and no leaks!

When I made the appointment for the initial estimate, I asked for a 'time window' so that I wouldn't have to wait around all day. I was told someone would be at my house between 10 A.M. and 12 noon on 3/16/12. John ran my bell at 10:02 on the appointed day. I think my watch must have been two minutes fast (LOL). John inspected the roof, gave me an estimate, and told me everything that they would do and what any additional costs may be for required repair work.My wife wasn't at home to decide on what color shinges she wanted, so John left a brochure with 15 small samples of the shingles for her to examine. Three days later I called A1 and told them of our color choice. They said they would get back to me to work out an installation date. Several days later they called back and we settled on 3/28 for the job to be accomplished. At 7:12 A.M. on 3/28 the A1 crew (of eight men) arrived and started the job. At 12:09 P.M. they drove their last truck off my property. It took them a total of 4 hours and 57 minutes to complete the job. If they were any faster, they would have finished before they arrived - which would have qualified them for an appearance on the TV program 'Through the Wormhole" (another LOL). I never bothered getting any additional estimates for the roofing job because of the excellent reports A1 Roofing and Siding has received on Anfie's List, so I cannot comment on the cost. All I know and care about is that I got a quality job with outstanding service, and I'm very confident that they will stand behind their work 100 percent. One last remark regarding the cleanup. They cleaned up my property better than the landscapers do. I'm very satisfied.

They did a great job. They cleaned up nicely and the roof was done just like they said it would be. I could not be any happier and I will be using them again.

They were good and I would recommend them. I thought their price was fair. So far everything is good. It took a while to get somebody here because of the hurricane but once they came, it was good.

Contacted A-1 Roofing through Angie's List. We dealt with a young man named John who came over for the estimate exactly when he said he would. John was very friendly and totally honest and gave us a very resonable and compatible estimate. John came on time like he said (7:15 a.m.) with a full crew and equippment and was done by 11:30 a.m. The crew was very professional and when done they totally cleaned up. It was like they were never even here. I would highly recommend A-1 to all. They deserve an A+ across the board

My house is a few years away from needing a new roof. I decided to call a roofing contractor to get some general maintenance done in certain areas of my roof that were starting to deteriorate. A-1 Roofing and Siding was very professional and experienced contractor. They kept all scheduled appointments on time. I had them do some repairs and general maintenace to my roof. After getting an estimate and agreeing to have the work done, a two man crew was sent the next afternoon. After finishing, any work debris was cleaned up and halled away. I was very satisfied with the work and would use them again. f

Excellent job from the estimate to the work done. They had to come back and forth to complete the job because of the weather. Each time they cleaned up and when the work was completed a follow up visit took place to determine our satisfaction. We had noticed an area of the roof that needed additional attention. It was immediately attended to and that responsiveness was very impressive.

The job went very well. I did not want the new leader to be attached to the porch column. They were able to extend the gutter across the side of the porch and attach it to the existing leader against the house. This cost a little more, but the gutter looks perfect and does not detract from the beauty of the porch column. The work was performed meticulously, and I am very pleased with the result.

A-1 Roofing and Siding were great. They came for the estimate when they said they would, gave me a compatible estimate and what to expect from the job. Started when they said, even earlier knowing how important the work needed to be done before another rain storm came. The men were prompt, clean and professional, They did a better job then what was even discussed for the estimate. I couldn't be happier with the job and company. Would use them again!!

I called the company on Monday and they performed the work on Wednesday.

I dealt with John very nice person, they arived at 7am got set up and they were like a roofing machine, awesome job.

When I called for an estate, I got a return call promptly. John the owner came when he said he would be there and he gave me the estate and them mailed the more detailed completed written estate to me. He explained that his price would be a little higher since he used copper rather than aluminum to do the flashing. Due to bad weather he called promptly to let me know that they could not do the work on the given day and gave me another day. The men installing the flashing came on the new day, they were a a few minutes late but explained their delay, which was valid. They did a very good job. Finished in one day. Cleaned up and did not leave anything for me to dispose of. I would use them again.

A representative came that same day and estimated the cost of repair-- removal of the roof tiles, replacement with new tiles, etc. He told me they would do the repairs in a few days, which they did, calling the day before to let me know they were coming. The crew did the repairs and cleaned up, so that I did not even see signs of their having been there. The representative was polite and courteous. Subsequently, there have been heavy rains, the latest from hurricane Irene. No leaks yet!

I got their name from Angie's List and I was very impressed with them. I had interviewed them and a couple of other companies and I had made a decision to use them. We then had a rain storm and my roof started leaking. I called them on a Sunday and they called me right back. He was very responsive and I think he came that day itself to put some tarpol over the roof. He came the next day and had his men fix my roof so that it wouldn't leak. They did all this without me having a signed contract. They were really great. I then signed the contract, and he was able to finance the roof with a company that offered me zero interest. The longest it took me was to pick the color of the roof. He gave me a list of customers and I went and looked at their roofs. I even talked to a couple of them over the phone and everybody was really happy with the company. I had them come and they did the work within the right amount of time. They cleaned everything up. The roof looks beautiful and it never leaked after that. I was so impressed that they came and fixed my leaking roof for free without me having even signed a contract. All I had said was that I was going to use them. I was amazed and couldn't believe it. They were so good and I was very happy with them. They gave me the best price of anybody, and they even financed it.I would never use anybody else if i ever needed such work done again.

I scheduled the appointment on Wednesday, John came in to take a look on Friday and gave me the estimate. A few hours later I called to schedule the repair and his receptionist said John would call back shortly. Saturday morning, John called saying he can send someone to do the repairs that afternoon and no one needed to be there if we weren't available. That afternoon one of John's workers came around, and fixed the window siding in 45 minutes and the roof in 45 minutes. It rained alittle the other day and no leak coming from the ceiling. So far, so good. Waiting for another heavy storm to come around to make sure all is good with the roof, but all in all service was quick, easy and painless. I would recommend A-1 to anyone.

The work was done on two different days and was performed quickly in a professional, courteous manner. Workers always showed up exactly when they were supposed to. The price was competitive and there were no attempts to sell additional, costly services.
