A1 Roofing

Description of Work: Replaced my old base cedar shake roof and ran new leaders and gutters. A real messy job which took 3.5 full days of work but was done extremely well of highest quality. Their estimate was not the highest or the lowest but I used them because of all their good write ups on Angie's list. I would recommend them to anyone needing extensive roof work.

Description of Work: We have had a persistant leak in our roof around the chimney for over 2 years. A previous roofer made a few attempts at finding the leak, to no avail and finally gave up. I called A-1, told John my problem and he promised he would make the necessary repairs and continue until the leak problem was solved. Well between January 2015 and March 2015, A-1 has be back to my roof 5 times, torn up the flashing twice, replaced water seal and shingle in an attempt to find this illusive leak. The leak is much better and we are awaiting the mason to have a second look at the chimney. Although I cant say the leak is gone, I am confident that A-1 will find it. I have not paid a cent more than the initial first day cost. Everyone who worked on our roof has been curteous, professional and after they left you would never know they were there. I highly reccommend A-1.

Description of Work: They repaired a roof leak around the chimney. I had another contractor onsite. They told me the A-1 Roofing team was doing a very professional job. From removing the roof tiles, using cooper flushing, cutting into the masonry to seal the area. Exceptional work. Worth every penny.

Description of Work: complete roof rip-off and damaged plywood replacement. Installed a new GAF roof system. Complete rip-off and repair of vinyl siding, leaders, and gutters. Replacement of front door and storm door. replacement of 2 thru-wall Air conditioner units, and 5 Electrical Lighting Fixtures. Complete cleanup and haul-away of all garbage and waste.

Description of Work: They repaired three holes in my roof were an animal tried to get in. They came and gave me an estimate, and even repaired it the same day. They were on time honest, and even repaired a few extra shingles at no extra cost. John the owner and his workers were all very professional and polite. I will definitely use them when I replace the roof and siding.

Description of Work: We had a tear off and removal of old roofing(2 layers)and a new roof using GAF LIFETIME SHINGLES. Description of Work: They fixed a leak in my roof around a skylight. They have also repaired damage caused by raccoons. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves.

Description of Work: Replaced capping and installed new chimney cap. Arrived on scheduled day but only did the front of house, we had to keep calling them to find out why they didn't finish. Finally they responded and came to complete job. I asked the worker if he could look at a few roof shingles that were lifting while he had a ladder out he said sure no problem. After he left I looked outside and he never fixed the shingles. I know it wasn't part of the job but it would have been nice if he could have done it. Overall the job went well in the end.

Description of Work: We had been experiencing some minor leaks in our kitchen. Although the roof was thirty years old, we thought repairs might be all that we needed. We were wrong, John jr. took the time to explain some the problems that were not so obvious. He went through the entire plan for a new roof as well as detailing the costs for the work. He also said that if we only wanted to do repairs he would accommodate us as well as standing behind those repairs. We decided to go with the new roof. We could not be happier! From beginning to end, everything that was promised was done. The A-1 crew of about ten men, arrived early on the scheduled day, they were neat, courteous and professional. Our shrubs and lawn were carefully covered or shielded from falling debris. The job was completed in one day as John had told us. The price we paid was the same amount as the estimate.

Description of Work: I had a small leak in fireplace chimney flashing. I added flashing cement, but called A-1 to take a look and assess if something more was needed. They answered the phone promptly on Friday and were at my home on Monday morning. John climbed up & inspected and added a little more of my flashing cement. He said that although he could sell me an expensive chimney reflashing, he thinks my flashing cement repair is all that's needed. I was very impressed by their timeliness, professionalism and honesty. I would recommend them to others.

Description of Work: Pride and professionalism are qualities that too few business's offer effortlessly, with sincerity and pride. From our first contact with John the current owner of this 30 year plus family owned company, who arrived when promised, inspected our roof, atop the roof where others simply made a lap around the house, we were pleased. He explained his assessment, took nothing for granted, did not try to incorporate additional costs as options, on his own. He gave us the opportunity to vent concerns, ask questions and discuss replacement of 2 skylights, with vented units and installation of an attic exhaust fan. His pricing was competitive, his knowledge impressive, and courtesy compared to all others superior. We liked the idea of a family owned and operated business that was local with a long history as pluses. Once we made the decision to go with A-1, our date was set, with the understanding the date would be honored unless weather conditions till that date were impractical. On the day arranged his crew featuring the next generation, his sons, John and Vin, and crew arrived, on time, courtesy again ruled the day. They explained what was to be done, where we should place our vehicles to allow them to do as efficient job as they could. Updates were given regarding their progress, and thier findings once the old roof had been stripped away. I had suspected by sags, I noted, we would need plywood replacement in areas. John stated that you really can't tell till the old roof is off. Well I caught the crew discussing the overall roof base and while surprised to hear that 33 sheets would, in total need replacement. Their goal was in making a solid repair that would stand the test of time. Materials used top grade, Cleanup was thorough and cost was exactly as promised under the terms of our contract. We have other services in mind over the next few years and will John and family, (A-1) will be our first call for estimates. I should note that we had a second layer of tiles placed 10 years ago, the gentleman who repaired the roof then had died. Unable to fufill his warrenty. WIth a family owned company I expect after 30 years they will be here when anf=d if needed.
