Rodina Industries

There company is poorly managed . Materials had not been ordered properly. There was only half the material that was needed. I as a home owner had to go out and purchased the rest of the material if I wanted the job to be done on time and not leave my roof open to the elements. The roof had looked great but found out 7-8 months later it was not done correctly. The Company has no interest in fixing the problem. I received in writting from Rodina industries / Home improvement Depo a five year labor and lifetime material.

We contacted Rodina when we drove past the location in Port Ewen. The sigh says Home Improvment Depot not Rodina Ind. We went in and set up an appointment for them( Bob the owner ) to come and give us an estimate and look at samples. We had contacted another we had seen at a home show, but got no response from him, but we had seen some of his samples and had an idea of what we would like to have done. He came, we looked and picked out what we would like and he gave us a quote. He even told us we could go somewhere else to pick out the hardware (handles & knobs) if we wanted and it would be covered in the quote he gave us. We hired and contracted with him to have it done at which point he was to order the materials needed and would contact us for an install date. It actually came in sooner than anticipated. He called and we set the date to begin what was tobe a 2-3 day job. They showed up late each day and didn't do a good job of cleaning up at the end of the day( sawdust all over-in and out of the cabinets, water left on our laminate flooring under the fridge, when they tipped over a pet's water bowl & didn't clean it all up.). The reface looked really good but in the process they managed to put a chip in our "stainless look" fridge door. We brought it to Bobs attention along with some other things that needed to be fixed. Tip-out tray didn't work, hinges not fastened tight, corners of cabinets catching you as you walk by, the kickplates not attached. Several calls to the store to no avail. Finally after leaving several messages we got a response. This took until October. He showed up and fixed most of the problems. I began calling again for the others and finally got Bob on the phone 2 days before Thanksgiving and was told i will get back to you tommorrow or the day after Thanksgiving and we are still waiting to this day which is now Dec.18,2012. To this date i am still waiting for a solution to the refridgerator damage. Overall, we love the new look we have on in the kitchen but for what you have to spend to get it done we should not STILL be waiting to get problems taken care of. UPDATE: 1/6/2013 - Still no response & fridge still not fixed. Not even the courtesy of a phone call.

Rodina Industries gave me an estimate to do a complete siding job on my house. They came a few weeks late of the schedule date. The job was supposed to take a week. It took several weeks and at times there was only one person working on the job. My contractor, who was doing inside renovations to the house, noticed several things done wrong or not done at all. I've been trying for a year and a half to get the errors fixed. I've spoken many times to the manager and had several promises that someone would be at my house to fix the problems. The gutters are all leaking and there are places missing in the soffets. I guess this is my last resort. I hate doing this to someone, but they leave me no choice.

I wouldn't recommend them to anybody because my window's cracked and they promised me for month's that they would come out and fix it, but they did. Luckily the window company themselves came out. They did do a good job as far as the siding and everything. They didn't do a good job hanging lights back up. Some of them were just hanging by the wires and I had to fix them. Then when I had a problem with the window cracking I had to get them to come fix it. It was like once they got their money they didn't care. It was a good price. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

I called and recieved a timely response and a fair estimate, the foreman stopped by twice over a two day period. The demolition of my old walls and ceiling went perfectly, They were courteous and polite however when it came to installing the drywall and finishing it, I was a little disappointed, they forgot to cut a hole in the wall where an HVAC vent was, when I mentioned this they cut a jagged unfished hole. The taping and knifing was horredous, the moulding has gaps and jagged nails sticking out a quarter of the way. I have been cleaning up and trying to refinish what I can. The foreman never came by to see it after the rough work was done and by this point I just wanted them out. They were polite but the are not detail oriented at all, I would recommend them for the demolition and the ability to finance, but I will never use them for any kind of home interior remodeling.

It went rather well. However, there were a few items they needed to fix, they did miss a few appointments, and they had only a one-man crew at times.

The job was late getting started and several times there were gaps in the work schedule. I was promissed that they would be on my job only until it was finished however I do not believe this was the case. When the jobe was supposedely finished...final payment was reqested. I made the mistake of paying them since I was at work and was told that they needed my money to pay the guys who worked. After going over the house there were several spots where the work was not finished. I and my friend have made several calls to Rodina speaking to different people who promissed to come and fix the problems. Since they left my house there have been several rain storms and I am sure that water is getting down behind the siding. I have no choice but to report this since no one at Rodina is helping me out. All I get is promisses.

Rodina's crew was on time, neat and professional. The work took slightly longer than anticipated because windows were late from the manufacturer. (Bob's warns his crew to be respectful with no vulgar language which would be a plus for homes with children.) The crew first tackled the blown insulation. This was completed in about 2 days. The siding came second and was completed almost at the rate of one face per day. The windows, when tey arrived, were installed in one day. Attic insulation was last. They had estimated X number of bundles of attic insulation needed. They had extra so they used it, increasing the depth and R rating. The few problems encountered were quickly remedied, except 2: The new rear door was a bit difficult to close. It turned out it was a manufacturing error. A trim piece around mailbox did not match trim piece around outside outlet. They immediately switched it to matching. A handrail on back deck was not re-secured. This was fixed but is still not substantial enough. Siding at rear (the north side) was not completely done. The kitchen contractors had the interior wall bare. Rodina could have held off on siding here so they could complete the insulation after the interior wall was finished. In fairness, it's possible they thought the interior contractor would insulate this wall. There was very little debris left from their work. In fact, when a neighbor was concerned about some insulation blowing into her yard Rodina cleaned it up.
