Description of Work: This was for carpet cleaning and tile cleaning. For the tile, all they did was basically steam cleaning it and told me not to walk on it for a day and make sure that it dried, and put like a gloss over it. It looked brand new.

 + -1 moreAs usual they try to talk you into stuff. They were prompt, they were here when they said they were going to be here, they called right before they came with two men a hopefully experienced guy and a new person. They were very careful they put things underneath all the chairs and sofa, you know wax paper you know some kind of a protector but at least they did something like that. They moved some of the furniture and the carpet looks really good.
Description of Work: They did three rooms and two separate stairs.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. They came in a timely manner, they did it right away. It was two guys and did exactly what they were supposed to and explained exactly what they were doing. It took them about an hour and a half to complete the work. They try to bargain with you for additional work.

 + 0 moreI contacted Stanley Steemer because they were having a sale, and I was dealing with the aftermath of having had filthy tenants rent my house for four years. The tenants had two dogs, and the new carpet in my finished basement was a smelly mess. The tile and grout on the bathroom floor looked as if they'd never cleaned it, was almost pitch black in places. Stanley Steemer responded promptly to my request for an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I received a call saying the men were on their way to my house. An hour later, they still hadn't shown up. When they finally arrived, they said they'd had trouble finding the house. I asked them why they hadn't contacted me for directions, and they said they didn't have my phone number. They also didn't have the information of what they were supposed to do or the price I had contracted to pay for the work. The carpet cleaning in the basement came out fine. However, the gout cleaning in the bathroom was terrible. I'd had the bathroom floor tile and grout professionally cleaned by another company before the tenants moved in, and the job was spectacular. When the man from Stanley Steemer told me he was finished, I went in to look at the job. There were whole areas he had neglected to clean. Admittedly, these were areas that were harder to get to, but the company I had hired previously had had no problem doing a uniformly beautiful job. To the Stanley Steemer cleaner's credit, he did go back and try to clean these areas. The result was better, but not great. I will not use this company again.

 + 0 moreWe ended up having all the rooms with hardwood done that I mentioned above. I decided to have the stairs going up to the second floor done too, as well as the second floor hallway. I also decided to have the laundry room tile floor cleaned as well as the entire basement floor, which consists of bare plywood stairs, vinyl and ceramic tile flooring. I also decided to bite the bullet and have the living room sofa cleaned as well as the leather furniture in the family room. The wood floors throughout the first floor, stairs going up to the second floor and the hall on the second floor look fantastic!! I never thought my floors, especially my much-used kitchen could look this good with a deep cleaning and maintenance coating. I just figured I'd have to sand and refinish, which I dreaded. I am thrilled with the results. I am thrilled with the basement flooring results too. Just knowing that the floors have been deep-cleaned after years of and quot;abuseand quot; by kids and pets is a relief. I am looking forward to the day when I can reclaim the basement space as our own, where we can have grown-up parties! Alfredo and his crewmate (sorry I can't remember his name) worked very hard and did a great job on my home. I gave Alfredo a very good tip, which I hope he shared with his crewmate. I spent more than what I anticipated but at the same time I got a lot more work done than I anticipated. I am very happy with the work that was done and I wouldn't hesitate to have Alfredo and his crewmate come back to my home. If I didn't have a negative experience with the first crew, this review would be all A's.
Description of Work: I have hardwood floors throughout the first and second floor of my home. When I called to get the estimate, I was clear that the rooms I wanted to have deep-cleaned and have a maintenance coat applied to were the entryway, hall, kitchen, dining area, family room, living room and dining room. The first crew arrived and Chris, apparently the head guy, told me that they would charge me extra for the kitchen because it was oversized. I told Chris that I had indicated during my initial phone call that there was a dining area in addition to the kitchen and I was not going to pay anymore than had been quoted to me. Chris spoke briefly on his cell phone and then told me they were there only to look at what needed to be done and another crew would be coming shortly, to which my responses were "BS!" and "get out." I then phoned Stanley Steemer to complain and spoke to a very nice young woman who was extremely apologetic. She told me their supervisor would phone me within a short time and another crew was being dispatched, and for my inconvenience they'd take 10% off the bill. A supervisor called me and explained that the men did not have the hardwood cleaner equipment on their truck to which my response was "BS!" I did not just fall off a turnip truck, afterall. I told him the head guy on that crew was lying through his teeth. Anyway, the second crew arrived within the stated 9-1 timeframe. The head guy, Alfredo, was quite the salesperson, but also very accommodating and willing to negotiate so I didn't mind. He told me he had to charge me for the dining room (which is twice the size of the dining area). Told him no dice and that I was not going to pay anymore than what was quoted to me and that the dining room was twice the size of the dining area yadda yadda and he acquiesced. Alfredo asked me if I wanted the stairs (also hardwood) cleaned and I said yes, because I had been thinking that should be done as well because they were in dire need of a deep cleaning. He also asked if I wanted the hall on the second level done (also hardwood) and I said yes, because I didn't want there to be a difference in appearance between the stairs and the hallway. He also pointed out the amount of dust on my upholstered sofa and and gave me a sales pitch. I personally was more interested in cleaning the leather furniture in the family room and asked him for a quote. Alfredo pointed out that whatever else I decided to do today would also be subject to the 10% discount. I told him and his crewmate that if they could move the exercise bike from the family room to the basement exercise room that I'd take care of them at the end of the job. He said "no problem" (best words to hear from someone doing work for you) and they promptly took care of that. And then I got the sales pitch for cleaning the basement floor, which is combo of ceramic tile and vinyl flooring. At first I was resistant but then remembered all the times I told my husband the basement needs a serious deep cleaning. We have so much crap down there (want to rent a dumpster!!) and I thought how the heck can I expect anyone to deep clean before we get rid of all the stuff? Alfredo did not see this as a problem. He said they would move everything and then move it back to where we had it originally. Alfredo also pointed out that he could clean the tile in my laundry room for $30. So what's the bottom line? See below -

 + -1 moreAfter complaining about being overcharged I was promised a refund. That refund never materialized. After many phone calls, leaving messages, their refusal to return my calls or answer the calls, I gave up. To make matters worse they sprayed some small areas to help remove stains, those areas are now badly stained by the spray they used. It not only did not take out the stain it left a larger one. Today they called me to see I wold like to have my carpets cleaned-OUTRAGEOUS! I did a better job with the machine I rented from the grocery store. This company should be out of business!

 + -1 moreI got a price quote online but when they arrived I was told that price would be different because the rugs were not area rugs. The rugs are just standard polyester rugs, nothing unusual. The quality of the job was poor. I had to mop floor cleaner from the hardwood floors when they left and I also had to put the furniture back myself. I would never use this company again. I feel that it was the worst kind of bait and switch I have seen in years. I called their 800 number and asked to speak to a customer service representative. The best they could do was tell me a manager would call me back in two days.

 + -1 moreI called them and they came out right away. They moved all the furniture. They cleaned the carpets. They put plastic under the furniture and moved it back. Everything was the same when they left as when they got there, just clean. I was very pleased.

 + -1 moreThe cleaning was good, but they broke my kitchen faucet. They claimed they did not, but a piece of equipment was still attached to the faucet. The follow up was awful. And when they said they would replace and or fix the faucet, they never came back and never returned my calls. I will NEVER use Stanley Steemer again.

 + -1 moreStanley Steemer Carpet Cleaner sent a very nice and professional man. Everything went well. He was very conscientious and careful of my property. I've used Stanley Steemer for years. Once in awhile the carpets aren't done as well as I would like, but usually they are. One thing I really like is that if you need something cleaned right away they will send someone out at least by the next day. They also follow up to make sure their customers are satisfied.
Description of Work: I had them come and clean the carpet in one 11' x 15' bedroom. They did move furniture.

 + -1 moreI was getting a tremendous amount of suds and it looked like the top of a beer when I was vacuuming. I called them and they were supposed to check the carpets and they didn t. I was not pleased with them at all, and I would not use them again because of the situation with the way that they cleaned the carpets this time.
Description of Work: I had them clean my downstairs oriental rugs. They also cleaned the carpets in five bedrooms upstairs as well. They added a protective coating on them as well.

Description of Work: The techs came to the house as promised. They called so they could come early. When they saw the condition of the carpet they called me to say that the soil was so bad that they were sure that I wouldn't be happy with the work. So they gave up the job and gained an admiring customer. They also told me they sell new carpet and could come to the house with samples.

 + -1 moreStanley Steemer did a great job. My only complaint would be the high price. Although they are kind of expensive, the work is always of the highest quality. In my experience using Stanley, they have always been punctual and professional.
