J & S Painting Plus Inc

I called to schedule an estimate meeting for exterior painting needed for my commercial property in Bridgeport, CT. They set up a date and time the following week, however; they called the day of the scheduled meeting they they needed to reschedule to the following week. Again, I was going up to meet them on the new rescheduled day when they had called again THAT day that they do not work in Bridgeport, CT. This delayed my job by 2-3 weeks as I was waiting to get their bid or estimate and held up my job. In my 1st initial call I gave them the address and asked them if they did work up in Bridgeport and they claimed they did. I will never use these folks again or refer them to any of my property managers.

Sheki and his crew were very good. They did quality job, followed directions very well, and took care of any details that we asked them to. They left the house very clean when leaving, vacuuming every area where they were. They provided very good value and were priced competitively versus the other providers we evaluated.

Their prices were competitive and they did an excellent job. They were very efficient and cleaned up well.

They finished in 3 days, and were able to start the next day. The men were excellent, professional, and we didn't pay until everything was done exactly as we had hoped. We noticed one thing needed to be fixed after they finished, and they came the next day to fix it, no charge.

Jay is consummate professional. We would highly reccomend him. He had a very efficient crew on the job. They finished the job a whole day early. We were thrilled that their speed did not compromise the quality of their work.

I had used J & S about 5 years ago to paint the exterior of our home and was extremely satisfied with the job they did, so I hired them to do the interior painting this summer. Sheki and his crew are true professionals. The work they performed is absolutely beautiful. We had some issues with leaking bathrooms from the top floors to the dinning and family room that we discovered after they began painting. They came back several times to repaint the areas that were damaged from the water after we had a plummer repair them. Not only did they re-plaster and re-paint but they did not charge us extra to do this. I highly recommend this company. The work they did is impeccable and the painters were extremely nice to have in our home. They also did an excellent job of clean up. Our home looks amazing!

Sheki was excellent to work with and was always available. The men were always punctual and did excellent work on the outside and inside of my home. Everything came out beautifully. The work was always clean without spills or marks. The experience was very positive and we are very pleased with the work.

I scheduled the estimate with Pam, who was very nice. On the day of the estimate, Jay (the "J" of J&S) arrived early. He was very professional and friendly and, after walking through the house, wrote me an estimate on the spot. His estimate was a lot lower than an estimate I received from a competitor, which at first concerned me, but, after reading all of the Angie's List reports, I decided to go with them. I made several requests, including painting some of the rooms before others, using six different colors and removing all of the ventillation grilles and outlet covers. On the appointed day Jay and his crew, led by Jorge, arrived on time and immediately set to work. When I came back later that evening to inspect what had been done that day, I noticed there were a few things that had been overlooked, but I called Jay and he said he would insure that they were immediately corrected, and they were. Throughout the painting process (which was completed 1 day earlier than originally planned) Jay and Pam were very responsive to all of my requests. The painters were friendly and did a beautiful job -- the house looks truly fantastic, which was a nice treat after a stressful move. My only complaint is that the painters used one of my downstairs bathroom sinks to clean their brushes (despite my showing them where to clean their brushes outside), and the sink is now completely clogged to the point I've had to call a plumber in to fix it.

On the appointed day four men showed up, only one of whom had an acquaintance with English. As they began work it was apparent that they were not at all being thorough, had not been properly instructed, didn't know about the storms, and were doing a superficial, rushed job. Loose paint was not being completely removed; bare wood was not being sanded and feathered; and sanding was more like a quick swipe. We called Sheki, who arrived a couple days later. He said he'd instruct the crew more carefully. Despite his instructions the crew needed constant homeowner supervision. Two days later Sheki appeared and began complaining that we were interfering with his crew. He whined that he was losing money on the job, and how was he going to pay for his kids' college education? He was nasty, denigrating and condescending and sprinkled his lament with four letter words. He said we were the worst clients he'd ever had. We called the J&S office, told the receptionist that Sheki was not permitted on our property again, and that we wanted to meet with Jay (the "J" of J&S). Jay was much more polite and agreeable. However by this time the crew was down to three people. The day after that the crew numbered two, and by the next week only one person showed up. As time went on, essential equipment on his truck migrated to other trucks, leaving this fellow only one ladder. I lent him one of mine. This lone painter spent the next five weeks at our house finishing up the job that should have taken "five days." Total time for the job: seven weeks. Because of the necessity of supervising the job we were tied to the house and had to cancel vacation plans--our "lost summer." Because we supervised the process closely ourselves, the resulting paint job was mostly well done. One storm window they broke was replaced. Because we had scheduled the replacement of 10 of the windows by another contractor, J&S was excused from painting them. There was no adjustment to the contract. Some months later I went looking for the stepladder I had lent their lone painter and couldn't find it. After a letter and two e-mails to J&S they replaced the ladder.

They were on time. They got the job done very efficiently right before Thanksgiving. They were very neat and very curtious. Everyone should use them or be like them. He also gave a fair estimate of the price for the amount of work that he did. We will probably have him back to do the exterior in the Spring.

All of our furniture was wrapped for us. The painters cleaned up each day before they left. Any small mistakes were fixed the next day.

They were great. They were reliable and efficient. They called us when we had bad weather so that we could touch base. They did a great job. I have no complaints what so ever. Their price was much more reasonable than any other quote we got.

My experience with them was very pleasant and professional. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They were reliable and helpful. The price was satisfactory. I was very satisfied with the company.

They were great overall from start to finish. Jay the owner arrived very promptly to give an estimate. It was a nice written estimate with lots of detail. His painters were available right away to get started. They were very nice people and I felt comfortable having them around for the 4 days of works. They did a beautiful job prepping and were very neat while painting. They took down the light fixtures and replaced them when done of course.

Pam in the office was superb! -All communications were professional,courteous and to the point.Jay was the most prompt contractor we have ever experienced.Every appointment was on time,including the arrival of the workteam. The painters were meticulous. This was a pleasent experience and we will use J&S Painting again.

They had the weather against them as it was in the summer when it was raining hard, and had to work in between the rainstorms. They had done a really good job sanding down and fixing places where paint was coming off before they put new paint on. They were a little sloppy when painting around the trim of the front door. I think overall they had done a pretty good job painting the house. We actually had major issues with them doing the deck. They were originally going to just lightly sand the deck and put a stain on. They had stained it before there was going to be a major storm, and we had told them not to do that as yet. The next day a lot of the stain got washed away in a storm, but they were quite accommodating and had sanded down some of the parts that we told them were pretty bad. They had come back to stain it again. We would use someone else in future if we need any deck work done. J & S Painting Plus were reasonably priced when compared to some of the others.

They were recommended by my friends and I did some research. They were extremely good painters and very responsible. Their price was very good.

Went very smoothly. The team arrived on time, worked systematically and paid attention to all areas. They were very helpful in moving stuff out of our decks, careful about cleaning up after they finished work daily. The work was done well overall. We did a 'walk around' and found a few spots that were not done so well and Jay Bisonni, the owner, came over personally and had his team touch up those areas without hesitating.

Overall, the paint job went well, but there was some evidence at the end that small details were overlooked (the mailbox was painted shut, cracks that were repaired became visible again after only a few months, a better job of sanding could have been done in some areas). The workers also had to be reminded to paint the front door. But the foreman was responsive to my concerns and Sheki was professional. The price was fair compared to other estimates we received. It's been 2 years and the paint job seems to be holding up.

All work was started and finished in a timely manner. The only problems were poor selection of deck stain which did not match sample and several window sills that needed re painting. The young painters were very helpful and very nice to work with. Sheki the owner tried very hard to accommodate us and assures us that he will correct the deck color for us at a nominal charge.

Jay came promptly, gave me a reasonable estimate and they started work within a couple of days. The men he sent did a wonderful job and cleaned up everything when they left. I plan on using this company again for additional painting jobs and would very highly recommend them to friends. I thought the price was reasonable and the service was great!

The sales man who came was very nice, professional and cheerful. I got to know about them from the direct mail we get. We had estimates from many of them and they gave us a very good estimate. They also had good references, so we gave them a try. They did a very good job. My house is kind of old and they did a very good scrapping job before they painted it. The price was excellent.

They had great ratings on Angie's List and we thought they were great too. They were truly professional. One frustration I have with painters in general is they are often at people's houses painting so you can't reach them. I do not know if this company has an office or a person that answers their phone but you can call and get someone to talk to during the day. The owner was coming out to give us a quote and they called to let us know with plenty of notice. They handled it all very professionally. I called six or seven different painters and this was by far the most professional.

Sheki s entire team was about as courteous and responsive as you could ever want. Not just from before the job was started or before being paid but throughout and even after. For example, on the last day my wife had asked them to touch up an area that was damaged during our move in. The crew did so without a blink. No extra charge for filling in and repainting the damage. Later, after they were all done and paid, I noticed a small patch of unpainted wall behind our guest bathrooms toilet seat. Again, all it took was a quick phone call and they came over that week for the touch up. These guys know what reliable good service is. They come with my highest recommendation.
