Keck Heating & A/C Corp.

There are so many typos in Keck's Angies List info that I would never hire these folks. If they are not professional enough to proofread their own advertisement, then they're certainly not professional enough to work in my home.

I've hired Keck before and been pleased with their work so they are my go-to company for HVAC needs.

They are very professional and do a great job. They are reasonably priced and I have used them again and have nothing but positive things to say.

SO HAPPY!!! This company was a dream from start to finish. Professional, courteous, on-time, proactive, expert, etc. Why can't the rest of my life be this easy?

My central AC unit, installed by New Century Home Services only 6 years ago, had stopped working. Jon and his employee Rocco had spent some time diagnosing the problem and realized that the outdoor coil was bad. The cost to replace the coil would have exceeded the cost to replace the entire unit with a better brand so that's what I elected to do. Jon and his guys were here at 7:30 am and removed the old unit and installed the new one in a couple of hours. The next day it was 80 degrees so I was glad to have to have my AC working. Jon and crew have been my HVAC guys for a few years now, after I tried a couple of other companies who did not provide expert service and were certainly no less expensive. Furthermore I found that these other companies were often not willing to do the work that I wanted, in the way I wanted it done. For example a few years back I called Carey & Walsh (a large local HVAC company) for a price on installing "smart" thermostats. They insisted that they would have to run all new wiring through the walls to the thermostats at my expense. I ended up hiring Jon to do it and he installed a high-tech set of Honeywell thermostats with color touch screens and internet connectivity using the EXISTING wiring. Jon has also installed a high-end central humidification system on my furnace. This was a replacement for an already broken unit installed only a few years prior by New Century Home Services. The new unit installed by Jon works very well. Jon only installs quality equipment, not cheap junk that is prone to breaking. Jon and crew also installed new bathroom ventilation fans and ductwork, as well as re-vented my clothes dryer. These were complicated jobs particularly because of the difficulty in working in the attic and crawlspace. I don't believe any other contractor would have done such a high-quality job with fully insulated ductwork, which is the proper way to do it. Most contractors just want to bang out the job in the fastest way possible while still charging high prices. Jon knows how to do things right and I'm always willing to pay a fair price for good, honest work. Being a small company, scheduling can sometimes be a challenge for Jon. This is not Carey & Walsh who probably has 30 guys driving around Westchester doing service calls at all times. However, given the personalized service I receive I feel that the occasional scheduling problems are an acceptable tradeoff. I'd rather have a trustworthy HVAC guy who I have a relationship with, rather than some stranger with no personal interest in the outcome showing up to my house each time.

Very detailed and great staff. The team cared about the work product, answered my detailed questions, were clean and courteous. Overall Keck Heating wasn't the cheapest quote I got, wasn't most expensive either. I had 5 quotes done. I felt the job was done right with high quality work. This was an expensive 2 full day job. I stayed home and monitored the work and was happy with it. Note, phone and direct text was the best communication, Angie's list interaction a bit slow. I would recommend them for replacement and servicing.

Mr. Keck and colleagues have cleaned the vents for a number of houses in our townhouse complex. They have cleaned the dryer vent and concluded that the vent was clean and safe, according to the standards. When I was in the attic some time afterwards, I noticed that they had left a lot of dust around the area where they had been cleaning the vent. I had expected to clean up after themselves, but they had not. So, I tried to contact them to get it cleaned up. However, it is totally impossible to reach Mr. Keck. I have called for more than 10 times over a period of several weeks, leaving a voicemail every time on 2 different phone numbers I had of Mr. Keck. The numbers were correct - the tape playing mentioned the company name. The fact that he never got back to me has left me with an impression of an unreliable contractor - and a clean up job to do.

Jon Keck came over in a timely manner to go over our house and give us a quotation on installing the air conditioning. He measured the rooms and discussed what we wanted. He quoted us and sent us a quote. We had some questions and concerns so he came back and we went over them. He sent us a revised quote. It turned out to be a much bigger project requiring a lot of our time to make the spaces available to him. We told him that we could not figure out how to rearrange things on short notice, we only wanted to do one part in the basement this year so that we had time to work it out and we never heard from him again. At this point, I do not think we would hire him.

Jon Keck came to the house and we discussed the most effective way to do the ventilation work I needed .We reviewed details such as what type of ducting to install, the best way to route it, what type of hardware to install, etc. I could tell right away that he is a person who thinks about details and the best way (not just the fastest way) to get something done. I have found that many contractors are simply looking for the easiest way to get in and out and get paid and as a result they do shoddy, poorly thought out work. Jon is different. After some additional planning and ideas he sent me a contract and we scheduled the work. There were some bumps because he received a faulty fan and switch and had to come back another day with replacements. Also the difficulty of getting around in my attic delayed the work which is understandable. It's nearly impossible to work up there. I've done it myself. After everything was installed I told Jon that the fan in one of the bathrooms seemed under-powered for the job. I knew that the fan he chose should have been adequate because I did all the CFM calculations myself to double-check. Nevertheless, it wasn't getting the job done for some reason. For a small additional amount he came back and upgraded it to more powerful fan which is doing a great job. Jon and his crew are very conscientious and polite and quite a difference from my experiences with some other contractors. Overall this was a very good experience. My only complaint is that Jon can be hard to get in touch with at times (he seems very busy) but for the quality of work he does, I can live with that downside. I would definitely hire him again.

biWonderful experience. Jon arrived punctually to assess the problem, sent an estimate that afternoon as promised. Work was done to a very high standard, they were very careful in my house and covered the floors and were neat and tidy. Their work is excellent, I felt I was getting a fair and accurate assessment and did not feel that Jon was trying to inflate the price and sell me more then I needed. Would highly recommend and will use again. Very satisfied.
