In the process of doing a bathroom renovation we found out we needed architectural drawings in order to obtain a permit -- and we needed them as quickly as possible. We must have called a dozen architects in the area and Frank was the only one willing to take on a small job like this. When I first talked to him he wasn't sure if he was going to be able to fit the project into his schedule. I explained what a bind we were in, and thankfully he was able to move some things around and get our drawings done in short order Once the drawings were completed and submitted to the town we were told it would take 4-6 weeks to get the permit. Frank made it a point to contact the town on multiple occasions to try to push our project approval along. He called me weekly to check on the status and ask if there was anything else he could do. This kind of service does not go unnoticed and was extremely appreciated.

We had used Frank in 2005 for a larger addition and were happy to hire him back. He was was able to hit the ground running since he knew the house. We met several times, beginning about six months prior to construction, to discuss our goals, review initial concept drawings, refine blueprints, etc. Throughout the process Frank was attentive and provided expert guidance, often offering alternatives where our initial ideas might not have been feasible. In the end, a great balance of hearing out needs while leveraging his own expertise and design style. When the project went out to bid, Frank worked with the bidders to ensure they had the information they needed and helped us decide (without pushing one or the other - just talking us through the thought process). Finally, throughout construction, Frank was actively involved, playing the role of our advocate to ensure the work was done properly. Frank's a perfectionist and it shows in the final product. One other note - unlike many architects, Frank did NOT nickel-and-dime us. He charged us when appropriate, but did not try to charge us for "stopping by to check on progress" or when we'd chat about things as the project progressed. Overall, a second great experience with Frank.
