Overcharged for all service done. Sold us unnecessary serviceCharged us to cancel after being steady paying customers for 24 months.
Description of Work: We bought a house with an alarm system already installed and thought "well, the equipment is here, it makes sense to sign up" For two years, we had no calls. We also learned from our local sheriff that there had never been a house break-in in our neighborhood. We had already paid $1200. What for! When we called to cancel our service, we were subjected to a barrage of sales pitches. It took a month and 3 phone calls to get past the people who were pitching to us to someone who would cancel our service. The cost to cancel our service with 15 months to go on our contract? another $408! Unbelievable. The industry in general is basically an endless hole that you throw money into and that plays into people's fears and anxieties. Like many on Angie's List, I found that there was no flexibility or customer service when it comes to cancelling. Just discussion of "legal" and "contract"Well, we learned a lesson: I hope some people will read this and beware. Stay away from Protection One!

The technician arrived during the time they said he would and did his work in a professional manner. We are now using them for our central station and so far no complaints.
Description of Work: They had to replace an existing burglar alarm that blew out during one of the electrical storms. So the house is already wired, but we needed a new alarm box and two new key pads.

We definitely feel safe with this alarm company. We like that they have central station monitoring with the fire department and police department. They are very good to come out if we need something adjusted. This is a very good and responsive alarm business.
Description of Work: Protection One responded immediately when we had a false alarm. We pay them a quarterly fee to monitor our alarm system.

I HAVEN'T HAD TO DEAL WITH THEM SINCE THEY INSTALLED IT BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS. THEY WERE INFORMATIVE WHEN THEY DID INSTALL IT AND MADE SURE I KNEW HOW IT WOULD WORK. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHER PEOPLE.
