 + -1 moreWe were referred to the tank cleaning service by Petro, and the cleaning service performed as promised and on time. Petro was supposed to coordinate with the cleaner to refill the tank and restart the boiler promptly after service. Petro botched the work order, writing it up as a boiler cleaning, not a refill and restart. They showed up after 7pm although they had ample advanced notice that the cleaning would be finished at 4pm. As a result they unnecessarily left tenants without heat or hot water.
Description of Work: Petro supplies the fuel oil for our boiler and has a service contract for its maintenance. We had our fuel tanks cleaned by a tank cleaner and Petro was to coordinate with the cleaner, refill the tanks and restart the boiler.

 + -1 moreI contracted with them about a month ago. They just delivered the fill for the second time today. The cost of the service depends on the price of oil and also on how much oil I use. I chose them because they are a large enough company that they have a 24-hour helpline and they also have online bill payment offers which looked attractive to me. Their price per gallon at the time that I called was also competitive, but again that could change and they could be the highest price per gallon next week. It's like gasoline. I gave a little bit of weight to price, but not as much as convenience.
Description of Work: Petro, located in Plainfield, delivers fuel oil on a regular basis to me.

 + -1 moreThey act like they are doing you a favor by selling you oil. For a big company- they shoudl have a transparent oil price-- but is varies based on who you talk to. DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR FIRST PRICE!!! However, i want to confirm that their service is very good.

Description of Work: Repair of furnace inner lining of fire box. Problem discovered when oil consumption rose to three to four times normal. This caused inefficient burning of oil as old lining was hanging down into flame area.

Description of Work: They checked the chimney flue, replaced the filter on the oil burner and ignition plug. Also vacuumed the inside of the oil burner.
