He did a great job on the small bathroom fixtures and the basement window, we are suing them again for more work.

It's usually hard to find an actual handyman who is available to do jobs that don't require a complete home renovation, but Mr. Handyman is just that - a real handyman service. The job wasn't large, but Steve answered the phone immediately, scheduled the appointment promptly and checked in to see how everything went. He's a professional business owner who provides top notch service. Steve and his team are great to work with. Very happy with this service.

Very well. Dan Strube the repairman worked very quickly and did a very good job with the repairs. The hole was in a difficult spot, but Dan managed very well. The only disappointment was the incorrect instructions given to Dan by the home office that caused him to make an additional supply run for the correct job materials. Although some allowance was made, it was only about 1/2 the amount of what that extra time was billed to me. Not a big deal, still a good job overall by Dan.

Dan came and installed an interior door for me. He was very professional and would explain every step of the process prior to beginning. Steve, gave a follow up call to see if we were satisfied with the work and we appreciated it. Overall, my wife and I were very pleased with Dan's work and would definitely hire again.

I forget because it's been a while ago. They came when they said they would. I may use him again. I thought he was a bit expensive for, sometimes, the small handyman jobs I had.

The job was done in approximately an hour. I have no complaints about the quality of work.

Ridiculous overcharges from estimate! The owner, Steve, told me to send him pictures of the shed that needed some siding replaced. After looking at the pictures he guessed about a half to a full day’s work. He quoted $1000 a day labor and “probably” a couple of hundred dollars in material. He said I could pick up the material or they would. We book an estimate for his carpenter to take a look before he starts. The carpenter comes, says he needs 2 days. Then says he needs $40 for that estimate. I call Steve, he confirms and books 2 days. The carpenter comes and only completes half the work in the 2 days. Says he needs 2 more days. But, he can’t come back for a couple of weeks. Then Steve wants payment for the 2 days and the carpenter gives me a bill for $4000! The over-charges were almost laughable; I have to pay for the carpenter’s truck $40, I have to pay for the carpenter’s saw blades, I have to pay for the carpenter’s shopping time and then they mark-up the Home Depot receipt but, don’t give me the receipt! Original estimate $2500 - Bill for half finished job - $4000.This was a simple carpentry job of removing some 4’ x 4’ plywood siding and 1” x 4” trim then, replacing it. No electrical work, no plumbing, no spackling… just simple carpentry. I would NOT RECOMMEND Mr. Handyman. Their integrity with PAID estimates is disgraceful!

The owner Steve is great! I am battling a mice problem and wanted to stop them from entering my home through various holes/gaps on the exterior. Due to the urgent nature of the situation, Steve was able to fit me into his busy schedule and sent handyman Joe within 2 days after I first reached out to his company. Joe was excellent, really a knowledgable guy with tremendous enthusiasm. He jumped on board immediately and got right to work filling in all the holes around the house and even located gaps on the facade and located a possible rodent nest my exterminator and I had not noticed before. The custom frame he built to cover the basement window vent is functional and also looks great! This was a major site identified by my exterminator where mice were entering, and I feel confident that now the area is secure. The entire job was completed in 3 hours with a side trip to Home Depot to gather materials. Even though tackling a mice infestation is not what this company usually does, they were able to accommodate me and exceeded my expectations! I will definitely hire them again and already am compiling a list of tasks around my house.

Everything was done well. Called the Plainview Handyman Franchise at (516) 349-7500 since they are the only one currently listed as licensed in Nassau County, NY. Most contractors are too busy to take care of small repairs and are not available to show up when you need them. This company has experienced individuals who arrive as scheduled and get the work done. My repaired bifold doors do not look brand new, but they work well-for now we can postpone the expense of replacing them. If we decide to replace them, this company's workers will be able to install new doors. They currently charge by time. We expect that we will call them again as needed.

not good, no call no show I wasted my time. I ended up using Mr Handyman for the second time and they are very good.

Mr. Handyman service was excellent and highly professional. When I first called, they discussed my project, set up date, and went over pricing which was fair. They called me several days before to remind me not to use the shower so it will be dry and again the day before. The service man was prompt. I would certainly use again for other necessary odds and ends repairs that need to be done in and around my home.

Came out a couple of months ago. One person came out for a couple of hours and left the area professional.

Prompt, courteous and professional. A bit expensive for handyman work, but they are licensed professionals. There are cheaper ways to get light handyman work done, but you get what you pay for.

Steve was great about scheduling quick follow-ups and Dan did amazing work. It was as pain free as an unanticipated renovation can be.

I had contracted for certain amount of money to do various jobs which was agreed upon by the owner, and the person he sent did not do all the work, but they charged me the full price, which I was very disappointed I had used them I think about 2007, and they did an excellent job back then, so that's why I'm torn. But each job itself is a specific job. But the last one this year, in July, they were contracted to do three different specific jobs, and they only did two. The owner contracted with me, we settled on the phone etc., but the different person that he had sent did not complete the job. He said I don't do that, you should get a landscaper, which was a load of bs, because all I asked him to do was chop some vines over a fence with the tools that I provided, he just did not want to do it. I contracted for 4 hours of work. I see the owner as a very strong quality control kind of person, who definitely did a great job last time, but the worker in particular didn't finish the job, so I'm going to give them one last chance, and what I would do is request a different worker, because I don't want to use the company with that particular person again. But I would try the company one more time.
