Pittsford Firewood

Wood was delivered quickly, on time and professionally for a good price. Issues encountered: Some logs were cut too big (will have to chop myself as they are too big to burn in a regular fireplace) and some were damp/encased in dirt. Having problems getting them to burn properly - especially the big ones. Not sure if they were seasoned as promised or if I have to just chop them down in size.

Timely delivery. Average price. Good seasoned wood. No help stacking as it was south of his normal service area. Would use him again if necessary.

Delivery was prompt, and he dropped it right where we requested. It seemed like we got the full face cord, maybe even a little more. But when we burned the wood about a month later, it didn't seem like it was as dry as it should be. I called and asked him to come take a look, and he thought it was as dry as any of his other wood. I'm an Eagle Scout so I know a thing or two about building fires, and in my opinion this wood was not seasoned long enough to burn efficiently. He offered to take it back, but I declined and made due with the wood he delivered. I tried a different supplier this year, and this time I went with mixed hardwoods which seemed to burn better. So I'm not sure if cherry wood is naturally more difficult to burn, or if the wood just needed to be seasoned longer?

I called and placed an order for 1 cord of wood a few days before the delivery. I was happy they could place the order so quickly. They were late with delivering the wood by several hours, but I did get a very professional phone call apologizing for the delay. I would hire them again for my firewood needs. I would like to recommend they offer a service to stack the wood for an additional fee in the future. It would be nice to have that as an option.

Pittsford Woods made set up and delivery of my firewood a breeze. From the first contact they were prompt, polite and professional. Everything was set up via email, we only needed to chat the day of delivery. The delivery crew experienced a delay due to vehicle issues, and I was notified right away of the delivery time change. They arrived promptly at the newly scheduled time, worked quickly and quietly, and left no mess behind. The delivery crew were just as polite and professional as the owner. The wood is excellent quality, clean and neatly cut.

Placed a call Friday around lunchtime, received a call back Friday evening, delivery scheduled for Saturday morning. I don't know if it always works out that well, but I was glad to do business with someone who made it that easy. The other company I called earlier in the day didn't get back to me until Monday -- after I was already done stacking the delivery from Pittsford Woods. Firewood was quality and quantity was right on, too. Thanks!
