Description of Work: It's too soon for me to give a full report because the work has not yet begun.But so far I'm impressed by this provider's openness, cooperation, and flexibility. He's displayed these in relation to setting a price for the job, but also in terms of some technical challenges that needed to be ironed out with the architect. At stake is a small addition ( a work space)attached to a small cottage. The approx cost is $`120,000.

Description of Work: Javier and his crew rebuilt a 200 year old house that we acquired at auction. When we acquired the property, we had no idea how many fundamental problems there were with the foundation and the structural elements of the house. Set on a 200 Acre farm, it was important to us to bring the house back "the right way" but without spending fortune. Javier was recommended by a local friend who had been working with Javier for years. Javier and his crew are a true rare gem in construction. They are quick, inexpensive and care alot about the finished product. They are very flexible and they know how to do every aspect of a complicated construction task. Javier started by fixing the foundation of our house which was fallen down on one side, by jacking the house and excavating a new wall. Within two days of taking to the site, the old foundation was was replaced by a sturdy concrete wall. Next, we completely gutted the house, removing all of the old plaster walls which were in suffering from years of neglect. For the stone wall and demolition phase of the project, the total invoice for Javier and his crew was 1/3rd of what we had been quoted elsewhere. now, four months later, we are putting the finishing touches on the house including detailed molding and trim throughout and extensive tilework in the bathrooms. I didn't want to comment on Javier until I saw the quality of his construction work. It is very good. I marked quality as 4 out of 5 stars because I have seen carpenters who are perfectionist at every joint...and it takes forever. Javier has an exceptional finished product, but the most impressive part is the speed of his work. Javier shows up at 7 am and works until 6pm every night. They work half days on Saturdays and he spends all day Sunday collecting materials for the week ahead... on his own time.
