I signed a contract with Les Jackson on 9/2011. Work was to begin 10/18/2010. The project was placed on hold due to permit issues. In January 2011 I asked for my deposit back which he never returned to me. In April I contacted him again and he said he forgot and he will get it to me. In June I contacted him again and said that the project could go forward and he could do it because he still had my deposit and he agreed. I then contacted him again and asked the work to be done the last week of August. August 26 Les started framing the footers which took a week to do. The entire project should have taken 5 days from start to finish. September 6 he started to pour concrete for the footers and started brick work 9/8/2011. I expressed my concern to him as my modualer house was to be delivered the week of 9/12/2011. He assured me that it would be done and that he had another job lined up so he had to get my foundation done. I have had to have the house on hold at the manufacturer now for 2 weeks due to the foundation still not being done. Today is 9/27/2011 and only about 1/2 of the work is done. The last check I gave him was cashed 11 days ago and the final materials have not yet been delivered. I have several witnesses that can verify his statements to me that it would only take 4 or 5 days and have talked to other contractor that said it should have only taken 5 days total. I now have to have another mason finish his work and take legal action against him to get my money back. Do not ever hire ABC Concrete or Les Jackson if you actually want the work done!
Description of Work: I hired this company to build a foundation for a new modular home. He was to lay footers, brickwork, and place sill plates. The contract stated to give him a $5000 deposit and pay for materials as they arrive, pay for balance once floor has been poured.
