Bank assigned my appraisal to TONY ACOSTA. Would NEVER work with this guy after several brief dealings and called bank and requested a new appraiser. TONY ACOSTA - his 'know it all' and your the pion, abrasive and caustic, and 'prove you wrong' and go on 5 min diatribe about it on the phone till you feel beaten...attitude was not at all pleasant to work with. Then he emails the BANK to try and send a slanted review about me to turn them sour on ME(loan applicant)!! What an Ahole! You don't want this guy deciding for financial future!! He couldn't even seem to answer the phone during normal business hours and then would call at dinner time and leave messages.

Jeremy the appraiser no showed to our first appointment, it was due to a hold up with the lender but he should've contacted me to let me know especially since I had to take off work for the appointment. When he arrived at our rescheduled appointment I immediately felt uncomfortable by his personality and overall vibe, he acted friendly but it didn't feel genuine at all and I couldn't wait for him to leave. Thankfully it only took him a very short time but that also meant he just breezed through and did not do a proper appraisal. He even called my brand new $20k horse barn a "shed" on the appraisal. He seemed annoyed when I asked him to wear a mask in the house even though I previously made him aware that my husband is considered high risk and I was stressed to let someone inside our "safe zone". I wore a mask the entire time to respect his safety. We were doing final touches on a bathroom remodel and it looked beautiful. The plumbing was done but the toilet and vanity were not installed yet, they were sitting on our covered porch. He wrote in the appraisal that the toilet and vanity were "missing". The week after the appraisal he contacted me for additional pictures of things he forgot, I paid a lot of money for this appraisal and he forgot things, overlooked things and mislabeled things. The result of the appraisal was appalling! He undervalued our property $30k-$50k! We will obviously be getting another appraisal done by a different company but it's very disappointing to waste so much time and money.

They were here about 15 minutes late, and were not here for more than 20 minutes, looking at our entire property (which has more than just the house to it) and spent more time outside looking at other structures than the house, which is what they were supposed to be appraising. They were in and out of the house in less than 10 minutes, but that might be why there were so many inaccuracies on the appraisal.
Description of Work: They came and did an appraisal of our house and property for a bank re-finance. Simple things on the appraisal were not accurate - lot size, zoning, layout of the house on a drawing, appliances not marked as having when they are in a picture that was taken, and location classification. They also decided that a barn that has been standing for over 100 years (yes, it is not in the greatest shape) needed to be torn down because it was "Very unsafe" without consulting a building professional. The structure withstood the winds of super storm Sandy without even a slight issue, yet they made it seems as though it was going to fall down at any time.
