The estimator, job foreman, and accountant were each very professional and executed the job perfectly. The house needed painting badly and required a lot of prep work. I got several quotes, and while A.G. Williams was the highest, I knew they would do the right job scrapping, sanding, and washing, so the new paint would stick. I've had a lot of houses painted recently and I know you get what you pay for. If you go cheap you won't get lasting work, and you won't get quality. I did negotiate a much better deal than the one first offered by timing my job for the low-season, late Fall. The estimator was happy to work with me to find a price that I could accept and a job-time that helped keep their staff steadily employed. I felt he was really working to find a mid-point that was mutually beneficial.

The owners and painters of AG Williams have been absolutely fantastic, in every way. Every single person I have dealt with at this company has been personable, responsive, professional, conscientious, highly-skilled, and a dream to work with. The painting crew always arrived on time, ready to work, very respectful of "being in my kitchen and my space," and unobtrusive. The gentlemen who have overseen all of my projects, Paul Viggiano and Doug Kitchen, each came by every day during every project to make sure that things were going along okay. Moreover, any concerns I had were immediately addressed via phone, email, or a visit. The company is highly skilled in the treatment of surfaces that need to be prepped for proper painting. The painters are experienced, precise, and hard-working. They can advise on color and on faux finishes well beyond the books you can study about these topics. And, every one of the painters and owners and supervisors I have dealt with has taken immense pride in his work, and was not satisfied until it was right. That's a rarity nowadays.

Scott was the paperist. He was on time and professional from start to finish. From the prepping to the papering to the cutting, his work was maticulous. He was cordual, quiet, and cleaned up thoroughly. All those who work for this company are top notch quality. Other jobs I have had with them in the past have been equally impressive. I would highly recommend this service as we have used them for a few years.

From start to finish it was a 1st class operation. Paul was incredibly responsive in providing an estimate, suggested I only needed to power wash (painted anyway) and staying in touch during the project. As minor questions arose he came out to the house to inspect and informed me of what they were doing. On the date due to start Claudio came on time to start the power wash. A few days later the team arrived to paint. I have nothing but admiration and applause for Rider, Selvin and Alberto. Polite, focused and totally professional. Edges were perfect, the sign of quality work. Drop cloths were used where needed and cleanup each night was great - never knew they were there. The deck? OK - it is 23 years old and after several sealings over the years there were some different shaded area after the power wash. Discussions with Paul and Rider over best course of action (staining or sealing) and we decided to seal again. Alberto came that morning and power sanded the entire multi-level deck. Are you kidding me? Who does this kind of work. After the sealer was applied the deck looked virtually new. I am extremely pleased with this company and have already contracted with them to finish some new doors and paint a new bathroom. I will also use them to paint the inside of my house in the near future. I would highly recommend them.

I have a kind of stucco. They did a great job. The people that work for them, that did the painting, did the job conscientiously. It is really wonderful. I would have them again. When I followed up, those the answered the phones were able to help me. You could count on them. They were professionals, but warm at the same time. The man in charge could answer my questions very well and I’d know it was a good answer.

Their service was fine. It was more expensive than an individual painting, but they did do good work.

They are very good painters. I think it is a family business. You get personal service and they are easy to get in touch with if you have any questions.

Originally I called AG Williams on a recommendation. Paul came to the unit to do an estimate. He was very thorough in his inspection and work description. The original estimate was considerably higher then others, but the scope of work was more then I was expecting. We revised the scope of the job, and the price was within my budget. AG Williams is more expensive then other painters, but they are well worth the additional expense. They worked around my schedule, and completed the job within a very fair timeframe. The painters were phenomenal. After the first day I expressed concerns to of cleanliness and reminded them of things we needed done. These issues were immediately addressed. At the end of the project the rooms look perfect. They cleaned up all of the rooms in the co-op, and left everything in perfect order. I am very impressed by their work, and the level of responsiveness of AG Williams. I am certainly going to have them come back to do more painting and wallpaper hanging in my home.

That e-mail was sent almost 2 weeks ago. We have not received a call or reply to my e-mail. I have to assume that I am not an important enough customer to deserve a return call. "No job too big or Small" is a motto a read on their site. I guess that is really not their motto. There are plenty of other companies that want my business, but AG Williams will not get mine or any referral from me.Shame on you AG Williams! After turning down this company's business, I was contacted and asked to remove the F rating from Angies List......Absolutely NOT.....

The reviews are true - AG Williams does amazing work!! Christian (the best!!) and his team were on time, very professional and very skilled. The painting was precise and clean. The carpentry work was done quickly and professionally (a very skilled and talented guy). Everyone was very friendly and a pleasure to see every day. They arrived on time and cleaned up afterward every day. I gave the pricing a B because it was more than we intended to spend - but you get what you pay for!! It took a little longer than we were told because of the weather and because of the extra work (wood work, fence) that we didn't originally plan on. I highly recommend this company!! We plan on using them again to finish the fence around the house.

1. Management: I dealt with George Williams from start to finish. Easy to work with, flexible, thorough. 2. Price: I got 3 estimates all from Angie's List suppliers. The lowest seemed too low to be credible. The highest was way over my means and seemed excessive. Williams, in the middle, was high but seemed fair. The price I report in this review includes post-contract additions and tax. The contract lists labor rates for such additions, so one knows what to expect. 3. Personnel: All the workers were skilled and friendly. Most of them have worked for A.G.W. for many years. A.G.W.'s marketing material proudly notes the longevity of the employees; I was just validating this for myself. I single out the carpenter for creativity. FOr the lightwell cover, the design specification was my verbal description and a rough sketch. On site, the carpenter made several design suggestions - really improvements - that I welcomed. The finished result is functional and beautiful. 4. Schedule/Duration: The job started with power washing in mid September. The planned duration was to be 20 to 25 days, subject to weather and the metal shop schedule. The metal shop added over a week even though work was scheduled to allow some overlap of stages. The unusually wet weather, including much rain, a hurricane and a freak early snow storm, delayed all exterior work. This was frustrating but unavoidable. 5. Communication: Since paint and other equipment was stored overnight in my locked garage and because some of the carpentry and window work required access to the house, it was necessary that the painting schedule was coordinated with my personal schedule. Constant communication, usually by email, was essential. (Occasional incompatibility of our schedules led to some of the delay) FOr the most part, communication was excellent. There was only one lapse when painters arrived unexpectedly. Fortunately I was, and could remain home. I don't think there were any lapses of the other kind; I was always notified if a scheduled painting day had to be postponed, and that was usually weather-related. 6. Post-job: After inspecting and accepting the completed job, which was beautiful, I discovered to my embarrassment that I had omitted painting A/C exterior ductwork from the initial job description and contract. George had one of his men return and paint the ducts - no charge. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with A. G. Williams. I would hire them again. I do recommend them highly.

Deeply disapointing lack of response after all the glowing reports. Called two different times and was told an estimator would get back to me. Never happened. The second time I called the phone receptionist, who kept saying she was new, could not find any record of my previous call. Some one here needs to shape up.

Paul is a pleasant person to work with. They have done an excellent job as painting four rooms for me. It was on time, prompt and very clean. I am glad I chose them

Paul was very flexible about scheduling to meet our needs. His first employee did a very good job on the areas where we needed interior and exterior prep and painting. Good prep is essential, and it is where we amaturs/homeowners always take shortcuts. His painter was conscientious and did a fine job. We brought AGW back to do more exterior work, and the second employee was even better than the first. We look forward to using Paul's services again.

The work they did was very good and the advice they gave was excellent, but they did not finish the work they said they would. Therefore the job was not completed. This is a direct result of their failure to set up a date to do the work once we had accepted the bid. This is why I gave the overall performance a B.

I called the company to schedule an appointment for an estimate, and George's assistant, Eileen, was quite pleasant. George showed up right on time for our scheduled appt, and e-mailed an estimate four or five days later. I thought the quoted price was a bit high, but we were able to negotiate and ultimately signed a contract. After my husband and I chose our colors, I e-mailed them to George, and he arrived at my condo three days later as promised with three painters (and once again was right on time). The painters were all cheerful and professional, did a great job, and cleaned up after themselves. Also, the work was completed a day earlier than predicted. I don't think things could possibly have gone any more smoothly.

Very professional overall and a pleasure to deal with. A bit pricier than your average handyman but well worth it. Excellent workmanship, finished on-time despite snow days, final cost same as indicated in estimate. For any future painting needs, I would use them again without shopping around. Highly recommended.

They did a very good job and I thought they were very professional. I would have used them over the years, but they have become a bit expensive. If it was for something that was specialized, like kitchen cabinets, I would definitely call them again.

Arthur Williams met with me to discuss what I wanted done. I received written proposal promptly. Was having roof work done first, so I signed proposal but asked them to wait until hearing from me. I notified them when roof was done but did not hear back for a couple of weeks which is why I rated B in responsiveness. Took a second call from me to confirm what I suspected - they couldn't work outside in July due to extreme heat and humidity. Once they started at end of July they progressed through work start to finish in two weeks and I was notified every step of the way as to who would be arriving when and what they would be doing (one of those weeks was to allow the house to dry after the power washing.) There was one weather delay and I was notified of that by the office. Crews were prompt, courteous and professional and have been with the company quite a few years. Excellent carpenter. House looks great!
