+ -1 moreCalled difference places in mid May and Metro-Are was able to fit me in within a week vs. 6+ weeks out. Their technician, Steve, was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He answered my questions and told me how to maintain my central a/c system properly. He noticed that my condenser were missing brass schraeder caps for the valves that the original installer, Res-Com's technicians, failed to provide or noticed during their complimentary annual maintenance so he gave them to me free of charge. Lesson, don't let original installer self-police themselves! Metro-Aire charges a fair and reasonable rate. Unlike others, they do NOT charge for travel time to you. Highly recommended company!

+ -1 moreThe heating system stopped working on the first floor of our home yesterday. We called John after finding him on Angie's List, and he called us back within the hour and came to look at our issue 60 minutes later. John determined it was a frozen pipe after he checked our equipment. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do at the time to help us. However, we were happy that he was able to tell us nothing was wrong with our boiler, etc. We had to pay for John's visit to the home but that is certainly expected. What we really liked is that even though John couldn't fix our issue last night, he offered us a great solution to keep the pipes from freezing in the future. We're going to call him and ask him to come back and do that work for us.
Description of Work: House visit to diagnose our boiler and pipes for a heating problem.

+ -1 moreI got a reference from another local contractor. It took some back-and-fourth to schedule, but John came out to look at my property on December 3rd. He was knowledgable and friendly and suggested bosch greenstar boilers, based on his experience. So a good start, I was encouraged. Unfortunately that's where it ended. Since then I have called numerous times over several weeks requesting the estimate (it's now January 15th) , but whenever I call I just get an answering service and never get any calls back when I give them my name and number. I hate to write a bad review, but this experience has been very frustrating and I cannot imagine working with a company that cannot be reached reliably.
Description of Work: I wanted an estimate for installation of two new gas boilers.

Description of Work: Everyone I dealt with was extremely professional. Calling the office and speaking with the secretary (sorry I forget her name) for scheduling and follow up was extremely pleasant. She called to let me know that Steve was running late due to a complication with his prior appointment, and when I told her I needed to run out for a few minutes it wasnt a problem at all! I was expecting to be told if I wasnt there when he showed I would have to reschedule, but sure enough Steve was here waiting for me when I got back. |I was expecting to get hit with a huge repair since we had the unit had not been working since last season, and it had been cleaned and serviced previously with no improvement. Steve looked at it, had it fixed and was on his way in under and hour! And the bill was completely reasonable. |Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional and honest. No one will touch my AC unit again! I will refer them to anyone who needs AC service. |Thank you again!

+ -1 moreThe service tech was on time, very courteous and generally professional. He was reasonably quick, and responsive to my sometimes detailed questions. Seemed knowledgeable and proficient.
Description of Work: Regular seasonal check and maintenance: replace filters, check A/C system pressure, inspect contactor, interior and exterior coils, fittings, test unit efficiency, etc.

They didn't provide an estimate in writing; it was only verbally over the phone whereas the other contractor gave us a written estimate. They got back to us quickly because we told them we were going to be making a decision in a few days.

Description of Work: I have had a service contract with this company for five years for the HVAC equipment in my home. The cost is a bit over $300 per year which includes two routine maintenance visits annually. If something goes wrong between these visits, they show up quickly and fix it and and they only charge for parts (which are 10% off list.) Frequently, no parts are needed, so there is no charge. They are professional and very responsive. In the five years they have been coming, I only had one problem, fairly small, with a repairmen. The owner, John, was quick to rememdy the situation and went out of his way to make things right. A minor shortcoming is that office hours are fairly restricted. If you call at other times, you get an answering service. However, if it's an emergency they pass your number along to John and he calls you back quickly. If it's something routine (like scheduling a maintenance visit), then the office calls you back later that day. Amount spent is my rough estimate of what I have spent on 5 years of service contract plus parts as needed. I highly recommend this firm.

+ -1 moreI THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY GOOD BUT ALSO QUITE EXPENSIVE. THEY WERE VERY GOOD BECAUSE THEY WERE RESPONSIVE AT A TIME WHEN A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO GET SERVICE. OTHERS TURNED US DOWN, BUT I KNOW I PAID 200 DOLLARS OVER A MORE LOCAL FIRM.
Description of Work: OUR FURNACE SUSTAINED SOME DAMAGE BECAUSE OF A POWER OUTAGE. WE HAD SOME PROBLEMS. THEY WORKED ON THAT.

+ -1 moreTHEY ARE PRETTY FAIR IN PRICE, AND THEY DO PRETTY GOOD WORK FOR THE MOST PART. HEY HAVE DONE WHAT THEY HAVE PROMISED TO DO AND KEPT MY HEATING SYSTEM IN GOOD REPAIR. THEY LACK A LITTLE IN RESPONSIVENESS, BUT THEY MAKE UP FOR IT IN OTHER AREAS.
