Builders Windows and Doors

Description of Work: We placed an order for 14 Norwood windows and a french door with Dave Rush of Builders Windows and Doors on 8/21/10. When the order finally arrived on 11/12/10 he neglected to notify my contractor and he sent his female assistant and one male laborer to the house with the delivery. My husband, who was dressed in a suit to go to work, had to help unload all of the windows. Despite the fact that the bay window for the living room looked enormous, assurances were given that all was correct. One week later when it came time to install the bay it was clear that the window was over a foot too big and would not fit in the fixed stone opening of our house. He made no effort to apologize or recognize his error. He ultimately said that he "forgot to take the inside measurement." Despite the fact that the architectural plan for the window said to "match existing" he managed to not only measure incorrectly but also neglected to bother counting the number of divider lights we had in our existing window. So we were grossly overcharged for a window that was more than a foot bigger than the space allowed and with 45 lites instead of 32. He originally only offered to pay to replace the middle section as it had been ordered by him and told us we should have seen his error in the incorrect lite pattern even though we were living in a hotel at the time of review. He ultimately angrily agreed to pay for the new correct window but insisted that he have nothing to do with new measurements. My achitect obliged us and came and prepared drawings and sent them to Dave Rush. Despite phone call messages and email reminders he did not bother to respond. He did not get the field drawings done and consequently we filed a law suit. He failed to show up at the courthouse for the hearing and we now have a judgement against him for $4,500. We would never hire him again. I intend to report him to the Better Business Bureau for gross incompetence, sloppiness and unprofessional behavior.
