I called to have the furnace flue cleaned as well as the fireplace. I was very explicit because it had not been cleaned in 2 years. My adult son let in the sweep. Whenever my son asked questions, the sweep either did not respond the first time or was not helpful in his answers. Also, he did not clean the furnace flue and when I called them today, they told me that I never mentioned the furnace flue!! They also told me it was very important to have it cleaned but could not return to clean the flue until January 14!!! Not only did I tell the person who took the initial order, but I had left that message on the voice mail as well so I know that I mentioned both flues. Tim's Chimney was not available to return to clean out the oil burner flue until January, even though his wife told me that it was critical. I was able to get another Sweep to come yesterday, December 10th to do the oil burner flue and I also asked him to look at the fireplace flue because I had a missing damper from a previous owner. When he examined the fireplace flue he told us that the chimney had, in fact, NOT been cleaned correctly the week prior! There were layers of creosol on and around the shelf that is in the flue. In fact, he left me the bucket filled with creosol to save and show Tim's Chimney service. He also told me that the way this flue was left was dangerous and could have ignited!! The new Sweep installed a new damper for half the price that Tim's Chimney quoted. He keeps them stocked and Tim's had told me they had to order one and it was much more expensive than what this guy charged me. I am thinking about contacting the Better Business Bureau because this guy absolutely did NOT do what he was hired to do and possibly left the chimney in a dangerous condition.

He arrived promptly on time and was very professional. He cleaned my chimney thoroughly and inspected both the inside and outside and gave me advice about long-term care. He cleaned up after himself thoroughly.

I was pleased with the work. He and his helper arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) did a professional job and left the house clean of any dirt from the chimney. He explained what the issues were with the way I currently have the stove installed and how his recommended system would solve the problems of down-draft and excess creosote.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT FROM THE ANSWERING SERVICE THAT TOOK THE INITIAL CALL TO HIM COMING OUT TO DO THE WORK. IT WAS JUST REALLY GOOD SERVICE ALL AROUND. I DON T KNOW HOW OFTEN WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS DONE, BUT WHEN WE DO IT WILL BE HIM.

I HAVE USED HIM FOR YEARS, AND I LIKE THE WAY HE PERFORMS, AND THAT'S WHY I STAY WITH HIM. HE COVERS EVERYTHING, AND HE CLEANS THE CHIMNEY AND WOOD BURNERS, AND WHEN HE IS DONE YOU CAN'T TELL HE WAS THERE.
