 + -1 moreIf customer service is important to you, find another dealer, these people wouldn't know service if it bit them on their backside. A simple request to forward parts from the manufacturer to my home was said to be impossible, they wouldn't put a new label on the package. I offered to pay for the additional shipping costs but was flatly and rudely turned down. Find another dealer before being frustrated by poorly trained people. After spending over $5k on a stove I would expect better treatment

Description of Work: After giving an extensive explanation (with photos) of what we need and wanted to purchase, a new gas fireplace insert, we spoke wth-2- representatives of this business. We were told that they had exactly what we needed and would send out a representative to formally measure our existing unit for exact measurements for the new unit we picked. The estimate was approx. $5000.00. We were to pay the guy who measured $100, and that would be put towards our final payment. Well, the guy came to measure and before anything was done, I was immediately told that the unit I picked could not fit into the area we had, since we had a "propane" gas fire place. I explained that I had told the Main Street representative's this. He said it was not on his paperwork. He did measure, and after a phone call to somewhere, I was told that there was a unit that we would be able to use, but I would have to return to the store and re-pick a unit. He charged me the $100 for about 10 minutes work. I returned to the store that night. I was told I could not get another full insert, but would have to get a whole new fireplace due to my space restrictions. This is after I had already shown them photos and explained what we had. The "new" unit would cost about $1000.00 more. I told them that I didn't have the extra $$, and did not want to have to take down a tiled wall for the "new " unit. I told them it was not my fault that they did not know what kind of unit I had in my home, AFTER I showed them photos and explained what I had. AND , I was still charged $100 for the 10 minutes that it took the Measuring guy to tell me they could not do the work. That translates to $600.00 an hour. It was kinda "Bait and Switch". The extra $100 charge was a slap in the face and was a little nickel and dime way to do business. I would not go back there or refer anyone else to them. That $100 charge cost them at least -3- potential customers that I have told this story to.
