I can't provide a statement on the quality of his work. He sounded sincere that he was busy and would try to find the time to get to my place to give an estimate. After one follow up call, I never heard back. I gave the job to someone else.

Great! I was pleased with this project. all went well, Mr Butler updated and framed out my detached single car garage opening for a newer larger door. All trim and major project work was done better than my expectations. Professional and reliable.

Original estimate was exceeded due to an error in material size and quantity ordered; installation was Mr. Butler's first of this material (Azek) and the fastening method used was not according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Work proceeded more slowly and with more frequent interruptions than we would have liked. Granted, some of the delays were weather related and the company had a backlog of work from storm damage (due to, I think, Hurricane Irene), but that should have meant postponing taking on new contracts. Also, working with the small crew he had, should have given Mr. Butler pause in beginning new contracts. Mr. Butler's delayed or lack of communication also added to the frustration and dissatisfaction we felt regarding the progress of the job. The best outcome of the completed job is that I will not have to paint and stain the new posts, railings and decking any more.

I'm satisfied with all of the work. I don't recall the price but do remember it was the best price I was quoted. The workmanship was very good.

Excellent fast work. I had spent a lot of money on a special door and couldn't have used it without Butler's carpentry work.

Charlie responded to our email and scheduled an appointment for the estimate very quickly. Although we had to wait for an opening for him to schedule us for our job, I'm glad we had waited. He's easy to have in your home, works steady and is very patient in listening to the homeowners questions and concerns.

Better by Butler did contact me and performed the work installing crown molding to our satisfaction. I do not recall the cost but I can tell you that it was fair and reasonable.

Charles was very nice but the quality of work was terrible. The deck is not even and I feel that we will have to re do the whole thing within a couple of years. The nails (not screws as requested) are not in a straight line and I had to have him come back to change some out because he used two different types of nails, they were already starting to rust. The design is what we wanted but the workmanship is terrible.

I recently submitted a negative report about Mr. Butler. That report is still posted but should be ignored. Unknown to me what that Mr. Butler had suffered a personal situation that prevented him from responding to my requests. For privacy reasons I am not going to go into that matter further but since becoming aware of this matter I now realize that my misgivings were not of Mr. Butler's fault. I have therefore re rated his company bringing it back to the over A level I had previously rated his services. Again please ignore prior July review.

Responded quickly to a request for service and completed the repairs in the scheduled time frame. The telephone answering machine doesn't identify the company but the response time for a call back was acceptable.

Company never responded to inquiries.

Whatever task we ask him to do, it is always completed on time in a professional manner. We feel very lucky when we are able to hire his company to do various tasks for us.

Animal made hole in the vent trying to get in attic. Called Better By Butler. It was about a week before the work was done. Changed vent and put screen over it to prevent anything from coming in. Seems very honest. Told my daughter that she could send him a check if she didn't have the money at the time of the repair. Will be needing some work done in the future, and will call him again.
