We hired Sclafmore to redo our garage roof and build a large deck for us. The long and short of it is that Sclafmore did an outstanding job and that my wife and I are extremely happy with the results. Sclafmore sent a team of 4 guys - Steve (the foreman) Andrew, Kenny, and Michael - and they were all GREAT. Super nice to be around, courteous to a fault, and really good at what they do. I work mostly in the evenings, so I was able to stay home most days and watch everything that they did over the course of a month. And I have to say that they were very meticulous and showed great attention to detail in each and every task they performed. After the work was over we actually missed having them around! I also have to add that Sclafmore confidently took on this job that at least one other contractor seemed intimidated by. I liked that. If I have any gripe it’s that I feel that some of the negotiating could have been a little easier. We decided to go with a cheaper wood than what was in the original estimate and the new price given didn’t nearly fully reflect the actual savings in materials, and I really didn't like how much I had to bump heads to finally get the price adjusted properly. So in the end, there was more push and pull than I would care for, but I would use them again and can confidently recommend them.

Excellent. Knowledgeable, hardworking and diligent crew. Every renovation includes unexpected work that was immediately identified and timely attended to for a fair price. Would definitely use again.

The workers arrived each day on -time and ready to work. They worked professionally--quick, clean and quality work.

too expensive

Ralph and his guys were punctual on everyday they worked. Took proper safety precautions and completed the job without giving me anything to complain about. I will he hiring them again for the next phase of the project.

Excellent work! Ralph came in with six workers and finished the job several days early. Ralph the owner came by every day to inspect the work as well as listening to my input. Ralph even suggested ideas that i would not have thought of to create a style and look that my neighbors always compliment me on. I will definitely use Sclafmore Construction in the future for other work needed inside and outside of my residence.

The work was performed as requested. and the quality of workmanship was good for the most part. There were a few small items that I asked be changed and they changed them all. I would use them again, but the next time I will spend more time to add clearer language to the contract. The one item I thought should be fixed because it was not done to my satisfaction (temporary roof flashing) was not addressed due to ambiguous contract language. You live and learn. I gave them an an overall "B" due to this one issue. I would use them again.

On Sclafmore Construction's website they clearly offer estimates. I made an appointment. On April 11, 2013 John arrived and we discussed ways to improve the brick masonry. He said he would call me the next day with the estimate. He did not. I called him to follow up on April 18, 2013 and he said he would email me the estimate that same day. I am writing this as of April 24, 2013 and I do not have an estimate from Sclafmore Construction? John, where is my estimate?
