Contactor initiated contact the same day when I submitted the Angies List work request. Very good A+ The contractor was very professional and stayed in communication with me from beginning, setting up appointment and sending a proposal. Very good A+ Unfortunately I did not go with this contractor for various mainly due to pricing; I was in a very stringent budget. The sidewalk violation for the City of NY outlined the cost for square feet which I think was very good information given that I know very little of concrete pouring. If the City of NY were to do the work for me by hiring a contractor the for was: 15.45 per Square feet for Sidewalks (4 in of concrete pouring) and 17.45 for driveways (7 inches of concrete pouring). I did not find any discounts at all by looking for my contractor versus letting the City of NY doing the work for me. I think the biggest differentiator between hiring a contractor versus the city performing the job is that I only would pay for the pricing of the concrete and not the overhead and me not doing the leg work. I found a contractor through a family member that was very good in pricing and this is the reason why I made this decision.

It was a very neat operation, fast and extremely organized. Every time they were about to take a new step in the process they called me to inform me. It was amazing, I was very impressed. They are a first class organization, It was more like restoration work than anything. They were a pleasure to deal with. They did just what I wanted, it was perfect. They knew exactly what they were doing and did a good job.

JB was excellent in the communication department. Their recommendations were useful in addition to being on time, professional and efficient. All jobs were performed with precision and I would 100% use JB Contracting again. Thanks JB!

EXCEPTIONALLY!! I found this company on Angie's list a few years back and had them build a driveway for me with pavers. I had to get it done right away because the city was coming to plant a tree and I had to beat them to the punch. The weather then was not great for concrete but Joe and his crew made it work. I LOVED the work so, I began planning for my next project, a brick and wrought iron fence. My fence was the original fence from the early 1930's The existing concrete posts were crumbling and the entry way got displaced when my neighbor put up a fence to separate our properties. Also, the concrete wall holding the wrought iron fence was only about 6 inches high, so debris from the street was constantly blowing into the yard. My dad resolved this by putting up old boards behind the fence thereby taking away any potential curb appeal. I called J.B. general contracting and Joe came out to give me an estimate. It was pricey for me, but I don't want to have to do the job over in 5 years and I know this company does quality work. Besides, I usually find that I get what I pay for. I went out to the lovely office in queens where I was served cappuccino and selected the brick and pavers I wanted to use. The job started on schedule and was done quicker than I expected. Like any construction project, there was plenty of debris and things got quite unsightly for a minute. But when the dust cleared and the clean up was done, on my goodness. What a Beautiful finished product! Beautiful brick work and a custom hand crafted fence and rails. The iron-smith Carlo, even made supports for the awning I have over the stairs. I have gotten so many sincere complements from neighbors that never spoke to me before, and passer-by's that I was floored! I was so impressed with the work that I felt weird entering my home. It felt like I should be visiting someone instead of entering my own home. This job is like a Cinderella story, I only wish I could share the photos with you to show you the difference. Since the job ended, Joe has been in touch with me to see if I was pleased with the work. I told him that I am but there were a couple of spots in the brickwork that needed to be re-pointed. He had someone stop by the same day I spoke with him to address my concerns. I really, really like this company and will use them again when my funds permit. Joe has a great eye and a wonderful sense of style that is backed up by quality work. If I could afford to, I would keep them working on projects for me constantly as my home is in need of much repair. But alas, one thing at a time. I do hope this review is helpful.

They were excellent. Started on time and finished when scheduled. Did everything they said they would and in a very timely manner.

Joe and his crew were very professional and great to work with. Joe was very detailed and knowledgeable about the work I needed to get done. He provided his professional opinion and everything worked out great. They came in did the work and now I have a beautiful backyard I can enjoy just in time for the summer. They broke up the old concrete in the back and side of the house, digged down to the foundation to waterproof, back filled, concrete was poured, pavers were installed and then the new deck went up. Definitely will hire him again in the future for other projects.

Joe, Mo and team came to my house to re-pour a concrete walkway (front) and repair brick and paint my back extension. It took two days, and I am very pleased with the results. They were very easy to work with, professional, and paid attention to detail. For the walkway, I wanted a specific "look," to the concrete (sort of worn looking with the pebbles showing to match the rest of the walkway). I must say, concrete is an area they excel in, the walkway could not have come out looking better! And, they took the time to look around and fill-in extra areas around the front of the house with new cement where there were cracks. In the back, they were quick, clean and efficient. But the most important part is, when I had a problem (some of the paint washed away in a storm the same night it was applied -- either not enough time to cure properly or the brick was too wet when painted initially) I called Joe and he sent his team back to fix the issue right away. They saw what needed to be done, and went straight to work. After they had re-painted the section in question, I pointedly asked if it would hold this time. Mo, the foreman, said "you have a problem, you call and we will come back to fix it - no problem - we're not going anywhere." And you know what? I believe him. I used these guys for another job a few weeks ago (installing cement patio in a rental property) and both jobs came out nicely. Would I use them again? In a word: yes. As I said in my previous review, they are not the cheapest guys in town, but you do get what you pay for. Thanks.

Very good! Excellent! They were professional, courteous, and punctual. As a retired construction worker, I understand the business and they did a very good job.

Unacceptable. Work was not done in accordance with Violation number 34928222P which he verified prior to performing the work. The contractor also began work after being informed (in writing) not to begin until I returned from a family emergency.

Joe and his amazing workers did a fabulous job of demolishing an old in ground pool,pond and waterfall, removing 825 square feet of old pavers and replacing them with new pavers and a gorgeous custom fireplace. Being a recent widow I was a little intimidated by such a big job but Joe treated me like I was one of his family. He would get back to me immediately if I called with a question and always made sure that I was completely satisfied with the work before I paid him. I highly recommend this company to anyone who first class work done with truly professional service.

JB General Contracting did a stellar job on this project. Joe was always reachable, responsive and punctual. And this is pretty amazing since I could tell that he is a busy man trying to run his business with razor sharp precision. You and your team were alwasy punctual, focused on the job at hand, and always left the job site clean and orderly and the end of every day. It's as if you guys weren't here kicking around dirt. One could not tell that you and the other 3 members of your crew were making countless trips in and out of basement while you moved dirt and debris from the back of my yard to the front of my house in buckets. Thanks to the back office team as well. Kenny, Danny, the receptionist (sorry I didn't catch your name, thanks for the cookies), and Danny, you all were very hospitable when i visited the office and helpful during the process of finalizing the contract and helping me pick a color and style for my pavers. The results were spectacular. The guys were professional, precise and worked through terrible weather conditions to deliver a BEAUTIFUL end result. Our curb appeal has increased dramatically. I recommend them highly.

Wow !!!! Joe and his staff prove there are still professionals out there ! Job was done punctually with courtesy and professionalism. We were very pleased with the results! Even the neighbors were impressed with what a great job they did. I would definitely recommend Joe to others!

Communication with Joe (contractor) was top notch, provided exactly what he wrote in our contract and completed the job exactly within the timeline that was proposed which was VERY impressive considering the workload. Project Manager John and his team were punctual and professional and did a great job. Any changes to original contract were quickly and efficiently handled without compromising the original timeline. A job like this could have created a LOT of headaches but thankfully it went super smoothly and we're thrilled with the results. Would recommend JB Contracting without hesitation.

Work crew showed up on time, worked well until completion of job, completed all tasks set out in work proposal. No problems with either crew or quality of job performed.

It went very well. Everyone was very courteous and efficient and they arrived on time.

Joe and his team were extremely responsive and eager to please throughout the process. They started the job the day after we left the deposit. Joe oversaw the business every day and provided updates via email or voicemail to let me know what was completed and what was going to be done the next day. They were finished in 6 business days. At the end of the project, there were a few things I pinpointed that I wanted fixed/changed and he was amenable. He really wanted to make sure we left with a great impression and a positive experience.

Excellent work. I Couldn't have been happier with the work they did and they made sure I was completely satisfied before they left. I have had to have these stairs resurfaced three times in the last 20 years and JB is the first contractor to take the time to lay down wire mesh and make sure to take the time to let the concrete cure. I can't recommend them too highly.

I did a lot research on contractors through Angies List and interviewed many of them. I decided to go with JB Contracting because, first of all, they have a lot of positive reviews and secondly, when I met Joe (the owner), he was very professional and honest about the job. What is most important to me is the fact that JB guarantees its concrete work for one year. No other contractor that I spoke to was willing to do that. The job is quite huge. They pretty much removed and replaced about 3000 sqf of concrete floor and 2 new limestone staircases. They also replaced the entire concrete floor in my garage. The JB crew that came was very professional and friendly. They kept the site clean and also completely clean up the place after the job is finished. They did a wonderful job. After this past winter, I noticed that there were a few cracks on the concrete. I sent photos to Joe and he immediately dispatched his crew to our house to fix every issue until we are satisfied. I have dealt with many contractors in the past, JB stands out as one of the most responsive. They stand by their promise of work quality which to me as a customer is very invaluable.
