Description of Work: I called JB General Contracting for an estimate to have the sidewalks re-done for 5 townhouses on our street, totaling over 500 square feet. While I was told, for a job more than 300 square feet, the price would be reduced to $11.00 per square foot, he also told me that each house would have to pay $575.00 each for paperwork. When I asked him what the paperwork was for, he said that it was for the permit fee, filing fees, violation removal fees, etc. I found out later that the permit is only $70.00, and includes all the paperwork fees if you pay to the city directly yourself. While his quote of $11.00 per square feet was reasonable, the $575.00 per house for something I know is $70 couldn't be justified.

If I may explain once more as I did already did to you several times in person & on the phone is that yes we charge @ $550.00 per violation which includes our $5,000.000.00 liability insurance & bond overhead cost that we must have in order to perform these type of jobs, our office administrative fees, our in house expediter fees, and our fee for meeting the inspector on site which sometimes can be a multi visit process and yes it is true that you as a homeowner can go down to DOT and obtain a permit to do the work yourself but we as a commercial contractor are NOT ALLOWED to do the work unless we pull the permits ourselves under our own companys insurance. Description of Work: repaired the asphalt driveway. the front porch work which was done the year before worked out much better. the driveway was uneven and discolored. they did come a second time to fix it,but to this day it still looks poorly done.i will have it redone by someone else in the spring.

Description of Work: They replaced our front steps and railing as our old brick was crumbling and the railing was rusted. They also replaced the gutter and lead on the back of our house. Their work looks excellent - and was done very fast and we didn't have to wait long at all after deciding to book their services. Wish they were cheaper, but they're worth the price (and they were less than another contractor we spoke with).
