About us

John Schubert started in the nursery business as a boy, and has owned Sunnybrook Nursery in Owego for over 30 years. His long term success comes from word-of-mouth referrals, and repeat business of satisfied customers. He is the president and owner; he meets with the customer and performs all work personally or with day labor. He does small jobs and large jobs with the same installation quality. He is very flexible, working with customers as the job progresses, and he maintains his work for one year after completion.

Services we offer

Ask him, if it is related to landscaping whether planning, planting, or hardscape, he can do it. Typical small jobs are: planting 1-4 bushes or trees, installing a small paver or bluestone patio, and renovating lawns. Large jobs are more plants, many trees, multi-level patios, installing complete lawn from seed or sod. John loves to take a new house and manage the entire landscaping project: designing; building a 2-5 year affordable plan; hiring and directing sub-contractors when needed.

Services we don't offer

Will not take down large trees, but will remove overgrown bushes and small trees. Will not take any job that cannot be done to his standard of quality. Will not reccommend or plant shrubs or trees that deer and other animals will eat. Does not pour concrete or major excavation or grading, but will recommend sub-contractors.
