Barron`s Construction

When we discussed the construction of our cabin with Marv, he assured us it would take about three months to complete. We were renting, and our landlord wanted an idea when we would be moving out so he could re-rent the property. We had to change that date three times and we finally were pretty much forced to move because our landlord had new tenants and we had to get out by October 31st. Marv worked at a snails pace arriving about 10:30 in the morning and leaving by 3:00 in the afternoon. We told Marv we were moving in October 31st and he had to have it ready. He didn't get the plumbing or running water done until the afternoon of November 1st. There was no insulation in the roof, so all the heat is going out the roof. He has gone way over budget with his estimate. We have used up all the money that he told us it would cost to complete this. When I confronted him about it, he told me I would have to go back to the bank and ask for more money! The cabin is not nearly finished, all the money is gone and I still need to buy the flooring for the first floor, the kitchen cabinets and the upstairs bathroom. We have the materials for the walls and roof, but I have to hire someone else to put it up. I got so frustrated with Marv's "oh well" attitude, I fired him and told him to get his tools off my property. I called my fiance and told him what happened and he put Marv's tools out on the porch. My fiance had to run a quick errand and was back to the cabin 45 minutes later. The tools were gone and Marv's son had P***** in the new snow on the ground in front our steps the word "SCUMBAG"! DISGUSTING!!! I called Marv to let him have it and told him how unprofessional that was. Since then, I had to hire an electrician to fix the mess that Marv left with the electricity so it would pass inspection. That cost $750 and took the guy two days to figure out what Marv had done. I have hired some Amish to finish putting up the insulation, the siding in the peaks and the walls inside. I'll have to omit the upstairs bathroom for now so I can buy kitchen cabinets and flooring. Just the labor is going to cost $5500 to finish. It has been a complete nightmare dealing with Marvin Barron. I would never recommend him to anyone!
