Roger Gibson of Stamford CT, gave us an estimate of 29 k to redo the kitchen, renovate a small bathroom and extend a bedroom and by the time I put a stop to it, he had charged us 46000 in cost over-runs for no extra work. He said it would take 8 weeks, he was in our house for 8 months! The man is the most unprofessional person you can ever have for a contractor. He is lazy and whines and has an excuse for everything. He will make such a fuss about any little change you may think of doing just so he can attach a high price tag to it. He will take you to very high priced shops to buy material perhaps because he might be getting a cut from them. If you buy him material from some other place, you will not hear the end of it. An example of his incompetence, the guy cannot put a lock in a sliding bathroom door - he put it upside down and then covered part of it with tape to make it look right !! He created so much problem for our subcontractor IKEA who provided the cabinets and the countertop because I had not gone with his preferred vendor. Once again there may have an arrangement there. He unnecessarily caused delays for them. He told them not to connect electricity for appliances and the water connection for the dish washer as he was the lead contractor and would do so. He then charged me extra for the services IKEA was going to do anyway. The quality of work is poor at best. Only his tile guys did good work with the tiling of the kitchen floor. He started sending me threatening emails and phone calls, as did his associate John the plumber from Scarsdale and Josh Stewart the electrician because I delayed the last payment until after the final inspection and then he took the final payment and did not get the project inspected and I have to do so myself. Fortunately I have it in the final payment receipt that if it does not pass infection I will take him to court and I intend to do so. His team of plumbers ( a guy named John from Scarsdale) and Josh Stewart (electrician) were just as pathetic. Josh did not get the electrical inspection done as was in the agreement. The faucet in the kitchen leaks and the lights in the kitchen play 'poltergeist' - they turn on and off themselves at times. Once again I will get another electrician to fix the lights and them claim my money through the court. We parted in such bad faith that i would never have this guy come into my house. I made a serious error of judgement in employing this contractor and I urge anyone considering this company or Roger Gibson himself to exercise extreme caution.

It did not go well. I have a small apartment in my downstairs, after he installed the new floor, he dragged the refrigerator over the new floor to put it back and damaged the floor. In the downstairs bathroom, he installed a toilet that did not match up with the old one and now there is a stain visible from the previous toilet. He also used a totally different style molding and different color than what was in the rest of the house. He also used a compressor in the house, which was very loud.
Description of Work: He remodeled two bathrooms and put in a downstairs floor.

They are extraordinary! I like everything about them. They have integrity, and they know exactly what to do when there is a problem. They are highly professional people. I could not be happier with the entire team, from the painters to the electricians, to Rodger Gibson himself. The quality of their work is extraordinary and they designed the shower specifically for my comfort, so they can design everything for the specific needs of the person who needs to have it done.
Description of Work: They remodeled my bathroom and kitchen, which includes the cabinetry and drywall, as well as all of the plumbing and electrical work. They did a lot of custom granite work and custom design.

IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME THAT THEY FINISHED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND THEY DID. ALL OF THE WORK WAS DONE VERY WELL. I THOUGHT THEY WERE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE, BUT I REALLY DIDN'T COMPARE PRICES THAT MUCH.
Description of Work: THEY PUT UP DRYWALL TO SEPARATE TWO ROOMS OF MY HOME. THEY ALSO EXTENDED A WALK-IN CLOSET.
