Molly Maid

I used the Molly Maid franchise owned by Mark and Caryn Tamner of Ossining, NY. The first initial cleaning was acceptable (although very costly - over $400). Once I signed on for weekly cleanings, the cost was reduced to $154 (in cash) per week. Although the owner provided me with an estimate after walking around my entire home and taking notes, the service I received from that point forward became progressively worse. I was given an estimate for 2 1/2 hours of cleaning with two women. I was told I would have a dedicated team that would be at my home on the same day and time every week. During the next 3 weeks, there was never the same two women cleaning my home. The first week they didn't show up at all until I called. The second week my appointment was pushed back over 2 hours. Each week, the amount of "cleaning" became less and less. The first week they only stayed two hours, the second week under 2 hours and the 3rd week 1 hour and 10 minutes. Many very obvious things were left undone. I have a 2600 square foot home (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms) - No one has ever been able to clean my entire home in less that 6 hours (3 hours with two women). The women doing the cleaning couldn't speak English very well. I was promised an interpreter during one of the visits, so I could explain what was not getting done. The interpreter never showed up. The service brings their own supplies, which (I guess) is to justify their prices. However, the only cleaning product I saw was some soapy water in an old tupperware container, being used with a ratty looking sponge and a rag. In fact, I realized that after they left, the house didn't even smell like it had just been cleaned. When I clean a bathroom (or any other professional cleaner cleans my bathrooms) they smell clean (like the products that were used for sanitizing). When my kitchen floor is mopped, it usually smells like the fragrance of the product used. I suspect a lot of the "cleaning" that Molly Maid does is with plain water only! It appears that they try and do their best on the initial clean so you will sign up with them and once they start on a regular basis, you realize what their regular service is really like - No service at all!

I called upon MM services because from the add in Valpack it stated they do everything ceiling fans, blinds etc. well that is sooo far from the truth! I called MM to set up a cleaning because I was looking for a weekly cleaning service and the pleasant girl on the phone said they must first come and do a "deep cleaning", so I agreed and was excited to have someone come in and get the job done. Two ladies showed up, I showed them around they started with my 2nd floor so after they were done, I went upstairs to check things out and NONE of my base boards were cleaned so I told the woman and with a sour attitude she wiped them down. Downstairs it "seemed" they did a good job, I was quite busy in my home office working when they were leaving and just glanced around and was shocked at the bill of $186.93 . When they left I walked around my house to see what that amount of $$ paid to clean- I was in for a surprise..I looked under my couch- dusty with a sock under it, my blinds were never wiped down, my cabinets were never wiped down, my bathroom floor still had make up on from that morning, my stairs were never cleaned, my windowsills were never wiped down! I was in such dismay that I called Molly Maid and the actual owner came over and agreed with me! Here is a copy of the actual letter I mailed to her: "Hello Caryn, This is ******. Just to let you know I will not be doing weekly cleanings because there's no way I am going to gamble $135 after I just wasted $186.93 on a horrible cleaning job. My husband came home from work and also noticed more things not cleaned other than what I had pointed out to you - not vacuuming under my couch, not cleaning the wood on the stairs, not wiping down the cabinets or the wooden blinds, on top of all THAT our ceiling fans were not even dusted off, We had fingerprints all over our glass TV stand, the shower had mildew in it, the bathtub had soap scum in it. I frankly just cannot wrap my head around what these girls were doing here for 2 1/2 hours and what I paid $181 for. I had hired your service because I wanted a professional team in here that I did not have to tell them what to do because I was told they were trained and I wanted to do a deep cleaning ( of which I paid for ) and weekly cleanings instead I ended up finishing everything they did not do and don't trust that my bathroom is even "sanitized" Furthermore I cannot believe I was not even offered at least a partial refund but a refrigerator and stove cleaning if I do weekly cleaning. This was just a waste of my time and money all around." Need I say more??????

They were good. We just stopped using them because we can't afford it anymore. It's just we decided not to use them anymore.

Horrible service with a horrible attitude. Had to point out obvious dirty floor after they "just mopped it". Will never use again.

They were good. They came and did a regularly cleaning for me. They accomplished what I wanted. They heard what I said and I had a special way that I wanted my floors done too. They used the product that I requested and they kept the floor pretty dry. They had good pricing. I have used them 3 times now. The first time 3 cleaners came out and then the last 2 times, only 2 cleaners came out. Molly Maids are very efficient with their cleaning. The employees are very pleasant and polite.

The work they do is good. But the time they come to your place varies.

I called this company about a year ago so I wanted to mention that up front but the quality of work was very poor. I called to complain that the services discussed when they provided my estimate we're not completed (specifically the kitchen floor was left with a huge stain the wasn't there to begin with) they came back for free a second time but the job was still poorly done. I switched to a local woman who took pride in her work.

This would've went better if the main girl would've stayed off of her phone and focused on cleaning. She failed to clean on top of many items which I had to point out to her. When shown her response continued to be "oh sorry". The day after the cleaning I went to move items in the house so I can paint and saw even more areas that hadn't been cleaned including on top of shelves, valances and tops of base boards.

It was fine but the girl was on the cell phone for a while. It was expensive for two hours. The cleaning wasn't too bad but later I went to my downstairs bathroom and the towel bar was bent. I'm not sure if I would use them again.

From the moment they walked in, the cleaning staff of 2 got right to work going non stop for 3 hours. Not very sure about the time but they were very good and did a very thorough job...

I had to leave while they before they finished but when I got home there was puddle of water In the kitchen, the cabinets were soken wet and closed. The house was not much cleaner then before. The place had nothing in it. They treated it as a routine clean. The windows were filthy.

The cleaning was mediocre unlike the first time I used them. One of the ladies was on a personal phone call while I was on a conference call at work, and it was quite disruptive. This sam lady told me that she does her own cleaning on the side, which I found very professional, I don't trust someone who tries to squire her own clients away from her employer. But the primary thing that takes the cake, is that they loaded dirty dishes in my dishwasher that didnt work, instead of handwashing them as I requested. We finally located the dirty dishes the next day, disgusting.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I needed prompt service and was delighted to be able to get that. There was a surcharge for a Saturday cleaning and maybe I think I overpaid a bit, but the results were well worth it overall. Two young women showed up at the appointed time, all geared up and went right to work. My home is a raised ranch and while they started in the upstairs rooms, I headed downstairs to continue putting away "stuff" (unfolded laundry mostly). I wish I had looked over their shoulders to pick up on some of their techniques. I'm telling you, there was no dirt or dust anywhere when they were done. They even cleaned inside the microwave! One almost glitch. During my initial inquiry I was told that for a first time visit a top to bottom cleaning was required w/a minimum of 3 hours (i think) That might have deterred me except that was exactly the type of cleaning I needed. So they whisk through the rooms upstairs and appeared to be headed down to the front door as I was coming up from the lower level. Then one of them said to me "oh, you want us to do down there too?" Well, yeah. It wasn't a problem. THey headed down and went through the rest of the house w/the same level of care. It just struck me as an odd bit of mis-communication since the woman on the phone was quite specific about the required top to bottom servic

They come weekly and are reliable, punctual and do good work. I will use them again in the future.

They started to work immediately upon entering the house. They started in the worst room first and had to hurry to do the kitchen as the last room. I would have had them do the kitchen second, not last. They cleaned things that I would have never thought needed cleaning.

I have a house cleaning contract with them and they come on a regular basis. They do a good job and I will continue to use the same in future.

They came on time and asked to look at the house before starting, in order to get organized. They were a bit too forceful with drawers and doors. I thought they were going to break the house.

They are great and I love them. They send out 2 women and they work as a team. The last time I used them, they were late so I gave them my number to call me if they are going to be late. Anywhere dust can hide, they find it. They are great.

They were courteous, prompt, and did a great job.

I WOULD SAY I AM SATISFIED, BUT WITH MINOR RESERVATIONS BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THE WORK HASN'T BEEN THAT GREAT. WHEN YOU CALL AND LET THEM KNOW, THEY HAVE PEOPLE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO DO MAKE UP WORK WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE.

MY WIFE SEEMS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEM. THEY COME BACK TIME AND TIME AGAIN. TWICE A YEAR THEY CAME IN AND CLEANED. THE WORK IS VERY GOOD AND THE RESPONSIVENESS IS GOOD. THE HEAD PERSON SPEAKS ENGLISH. THE WORKERS DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH. MY WIFE TELLS THEM WHAT SHE WANTS DONE.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM MOLLY MAIDS. I FELT LIKE INSTEAD OF THOROUGHLY CLEANING, THEY TOOK SHORT CUTS. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY IMPROVEMENTS WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED!

They are very quick because they have 2-3 people working at a time. They come the same time every week and clean my house in 2 1/2 hours so it does not take the whole day.
