This was one of my worst experiences ever with someone from Angi. I hired Michael J. Mimassi, owner of MJM Plumbing and Heating to fix a kitchen sink / plumbing line clog at a rental property I've owned for 15 years with tenants currently in the property. He did fix the clog and has been paid. Cost me $1,033 for 5 hours labor. The problem comes with Michael's communication skills. He does not have any !!! To begin with it took him 5 full days to call me, I could not get ahold of my tenants to give me any updates. I told Michael to please call me while there to give me an update, he did not do this. He also did not call after the job was complete to inform me he was done and the job was successful or not. He also decided to text me the bill after I told him please do not text me, I do not text. It even says not to text me on my answering machine. When we did finally talk on the phone 6 days later he immediately told me that he had a problem with me. What that problem was I have no idea. I am simply a customer expecting normal service !!! He was violently rude, would not let me speak at all and was a horrible human being to deal with. I have never left a review on anyone ever on the internet. This review is well deserved. I am a disabled retired Air Force Major. My number is 315-853-1967 if anyone would like to call me and verify everything I have just spoke about. He may be able to clear a clog, but this appears to be his only skill in life.

Estimate was 5 times more expensive than the person I ended up hiring.

Amazing service! They offered same day service at no additional cost. Great communication, they kept me informed of the problems and what they planned to do. They fixed a massively leaking pipe in our heating system and found an additional unknown problem with our broiler. They competently and quickly fixed the problems. They charged us far less for everything than we were anticipating. Great business and highly recommend using MJM Plumbing!

Company said they would be out the following week and would call to confirm. Never received a call and nobody showed up. Pretty sad. DO not recommend . So much for Angie's list.

Have used MJM before with good results. Today though MJM’s rep, came and said he was here to give quote for a “furnace.” He was responding to a Home Advisor request, clearly describing the work to be done as two gas hookups. He was unfocused, snappish and irritable. Told again that we wanted gas hookups for appliances, not a furnace, he said that where we wanted them was “irrelevant.” Then was taken to the basement, where he gave no attention to the gas lines, but stared at the electrical box, while on his phone regarding his American Express card. He then continued to avoid conversation, turning to stare at the rear basement door. When his attention was called to the gas lines, he snapped, “Leave me alone and let me do my work!” Told to leave, he said, “You’re crazy! I’m going to tell them about you!” and refused to leave. Ordered again to “Get out of my house!” he again stared at the outside basement door, then finally left the house. MJM was immediately called to report their worker. The man who answered said that he was the person who came to the house. He was belligerent and refused to give his name. Told him that he was on surveillance cameras as he left, chatting with our neighborhood's reigning criminal family, and would be getting a bad review. He threatened legal action: “I keep a lawyer for people like you!” he snarled, and hung up.

Terrific, fast, professional, neat, more than fair price

as it was not an emergency, there was not any hurry as they were quite busy, but when they did come the job was done in no time. they also cleaned up after the job, I would used them for future & other jobs.

Scott arrived as a serious snow event was taking place. The sanitary line hadn't been opened in 25 years. It took two hours of attention, to get enough of an opening, to get hot water to pass through the build up. Once opened, full flow was returned, and the problem solved. Scott left the area as it was when he started working, and his work was timely, effective, and corrected the problem. The price was fair, and the response was within an hour of my contacting them. MJM operates on a 24/7 basis, which makes their response time fast. My experience was excellent, and they'll be my first contact for plumbing issues in the future.

They were prompt and quick in coming out that day to complete job

I had a difficult time getting a plumber at my house for a foul odor on my new home. Around 8 pm Mike picked up and said he could stop over real soon. After some investigation he found that there was a cheater vent going right into my kitchen creating the nasty smells. He had somebody come over the next morning and it was taken care of very promptly. If anybody has any issues I wouldn't hesitate to contact him because he takes care of the issues and will take time to explain why he needs to do something before he has it done.

Never showed up the first day they said they would. No call or anything. Called the following morning and he apologized said we were on the back of his notebook. Sent someone out that afternoon. The person said the toilet needed to be replaced. Quoted my wife $380 which included the labor. He fixed our leaky sink then left to go get a toilet. All told, they charged us $900 even though they quoted well below. Told us we were wrong and the toilet was top quality. I looked it up later and found the same one at Lowes for $100. Charged us for them to go get it (1.5 hrs). When we balked at the price the owner said we were being unreasonable and we did not understand how things worked. He couldn't stay in business if he didn't charge higher prices. The toilet install was not done correctly as it did not sit flush to the floor and rocked back and forth. Had to call them and they came back out the following day. They were extremely rude to my wife and continued to try and justify their pricing/tactics. Please, Please, Please shop around and don't make the same mistake we made. This was just awful.

Mike and his crew did an outstanding job for me- he was totally fair in his prices and meticulous in his work. Would hire him again in a minute! Suzanne W

The price for service call was higher than I would normally pay, but my regular guy was out on a no heat call and may have been awhile. MJM was on other no heat calls but gave me an accurate ETA and showed up at that time. It wasn't a furnace issue, but a power issue. They stayed a hour to make sure the furnace cycled through properly without incident. I appreciated their honest assessment, being that I was in a vulnerable situation.

Poorly, the contractor never responded back from my inquiry!!

Arrived promptly for 25 miles away (no transportation charge). Quickly and efficiently used big wrenches and blowtorch to repair and replace the affected ancient miserable plumbing. I'd thought of having a go at it myself, but watching Scott work, decided that would have left me with a basement full of fresh water. The price was reasonable and Scott quite pleasant and obviously knowledgeable. Will use MJM again for less urgent tasks, like bathroom remodeling.

work was great, was offered ways to make room under sink, & fairly priced

Outdoor frost-free faucet for my hose was broken and leaking water badly. There was no shutoff valve in the house on that water line.

They did a great job. First thing they did was put a valve on the line so that it would stop leaking and we could have water to the rest of the house. They took out the old faucet and replaced it with a new one. Works perfectly now. No longer leaking. I called them about this yesterday and they offered to come out yesterday, but I opted for them to do it today. I received a phone call early this morning saying they would arrive at 8:30AM and they were there at that exact time. I will definitely call them again if I have another problem. The price was right too.
