+ -1 moreA good experience. I called Jeff in the morning and he called back in 2 hrs. He came over the same day, looked at the dryer, found the problem and went to get the part and installed it. His rate for the work was good and he was very pleasant and explained the problem. I also had him give me a quote on some water damage caused by ice and he was extremely lower than some of the contractors i had estimates from. I will definately call Jeff back and use him again!!!!

Description of Work: The first time I called Jeff it was for my hot water heater. He came over that night..accessed the situation and determined that I needed a thermo couple. He came back the next day( because parts stores were closed) with the part... replaced it and I was back in business.. The second time I called it was my bathroom sink. It was about a week before Christmas..I was having quite a few people over and I had a broken faucet. Jeff came to the rescue once again having my faucet replaced in one day. Then I decided that I needed a clothes dryer. He came over..checked out what was needed and got that done in one day as well. The forth time I called it was my kitchen sink. The basket was leaking and needed some plumbers putty but I did'nt know how to get the sink apart. Yet again Jeff to my rescue...done the next day!!! These are some small jobs but very important to me. It's comforting to know that I can call on Jeff and he shows up with his positive and "can do" attitude. He is a true business man and provides itemized bills so that you know exactly what was spent and where. That is refreshing to me because it shows he is trust worthy and honest. I will be calling Jeff again for some spring time jobs I need done. Thanks Jeff...you are my hero!!!!

+ 0 moreWe first hired Jeff to fix a pressure monitoring valve in our basement. Jeff showed up on time and completed his task very quickly. About two weeks our dryer wouldnt work and it was Jeff to the rescue again! Would highly reccommend him for any job!

I explained the problem, he quoted a price and time he could do the job, I notified my tenant, Jeff showed up at time he stated and did the job, he kept in touch w/ me the whole time, Tenant stated he was professional and pleasant. We spoke after job completed.

+ 0 moreI showed him the pipe downstairs and the slow leak. He looked at it and the bathroom upstairs, then decided that before tearing up the wall he'd check the pipe joint seal. He noticed it didn't seem to have any sealant in the threads, so he undid the joint and put teflon tape on the threads, removed some masking tape that was around the joint, and reinstalled. We turned on the water and hoped for the best. Later my wife went down to the basement and freaked out; not only was it still leaking, but it was worse than before. We shut off the water and called Jeff, who said he'd be out the next day. When he came he went up to the bathroom and found that there was a pinhole in the joint, and the masking tape had been keeping the leak from spraying (there's masking tape on many joints in this odd house, so we didn't think anything of it when he removed it). He replaced the problem part, even made a run to the store to get a part he needed, fixed the pipe, and left almost no trace of being there. We were a little nervous after the first day, but Jeff is a great guy and did a great job at a fantastic price.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in the pipe from the basement to the 2nd floor bathroom.

+ 2 moreThe part we needed for hot water had to be special ordered (only made in England), He had it sent overnight, and installed it immediately. There were a few other items that needed to be done and he was more than happy to accomdate.
Description of Work: Repaired our on demand hot water system. Replaced 2 door bells and replaced door knob that was about to break. . We are very happy with his services and price. We highly recommend this gentleman. We will certainly be using his services again in the future.

He wired an outlet for my garage door opener and one for my sump pump. He accomplished more in one day than I would believe what two men could do. His prices a very fair and his work exemplary. + 3 moreThe railings on my front porch needed to be fixed and Jeff not only fixed them but also painted them at no extra charge. I wasn't home when he installed them and was I suprised when my neighbor called on my cell phone to tell me how beatiful they looked. He also installed a gas fireplace in my home and i wasn't sure what I needed. He went to Lowes and bought the pieces that I needed. I am very happy with his work and highly recommend him.
Description of Work: I have an older home that needs alot of work and had been looking for a contrator that can fix everything then I finally found Jeff. His work is exceptional. He is very professional does fabulous work and is reasonably priced. If you need any work done in your home done Jeff is the man to call.

New plasterboard ceiling, new walls (4), new receptacles, plumbing, relocated washer and dryer, shelving, new floor, painted room, insulated exterior wall, replaced old piping in basement, corrected electrical problem in basement, sealed hole in chimney, installed ceiling fan.

I have an older home and many home improvement projects, he is exactly what I was looking for. He is going to come back next week and install a garbage disposal and also install a gas fireplace in my living room. I was very happy with his work and have recommended him to a friend.

He took care of handling National GRID and managed to complete the whole job in a day. We were extremely pleased with his work and his professionalism. We will contact him in the future for any other major home improvement projects, definitely. When you find a good guy that can fix or build whatever you want at a reasonable price in a timely manner, you are lucky. We feel lucky to have found Jeff.
Description of Work: We had our aged electrical service upgraded. Jeff fixed an electrical situation that was dangerous, replacing our homes electrical entrance on the outside and the breaker box inside.

+ 0 moreThe install was done in my basement, a new 220 volt outlet was installed for the electric dryer and a 110 volt outlet was ran for the washer, Jeff had to splice into the water source to my kitchen sink and hooked up the mixer valve and water supply and new drain for the washer, he also installed a drain and water supply for a utility sink I had laying around and decided to get some use out of. VERY pleased with work performed. I will be using J-TECH in the future!

Description of Work: Build an addition on the back of house for a laundry room. Dug for an addition layed blocks, poured concreate floor, did wiring, plumbing and gas lines and put up walls. Put on a roof, painted, and put down tile floor and moulding. Replaced broken siding and poured sidewalk.

Description of Work: When J-Tech was working in my cellar, jacking my floors, he discovered a small water leak. He showed me the leak and the puddle it was creating. I asked him to repair it. He promptly did so, even though my main shut-off was problematic, he managed to take apart and repair the leaking part. He discovered that the plumbing was not originally put together correctly and it was only a matter of time before it completely malfunctioned. I am sure his discovery of the leaky joint and prompt repair saved me tons of money had it burst.

Description of Work: I was having difficulty with my drier and decided to replace it. However, I had the same problem with the new drier. I called J-Tech and he promptly came over to investigate. He discovered that part of my 220 line was not working. He replaced the breaker with a better one. He also changed out the pig tail on my new drier. The new drier works great now!

+ -1 moreOwner took time to completely examine the job and carefully developed a plan to resolve the many issues contributing to the problem of unleveled floors in a 100+ year old home. He managed all the details of the job and maintained a clean work space at all times. He was prompt, reliable and dependable, all traits shown in his frequent returns to complete the floor jacking, long after the majority of the work was complete. I felt completely informed at all times and confident in his abilities. I would strongly recommend and will rehire J-TECH for any home repair or remodel. The change in my house is amazing, better than I ever expected!
Description of Work: Basement work included; pouring of concrete to complete basement floor, pouring of support piers and installation of jack posts to correct unleveled floors. J-TECH returned frequently to slowly jack house up and adjust support post heights. He also repaired a section of the basement wall corner. He purchased and transported all materials for me after fully explaining exactly what was needed and why.
