Description of Work: We had a problem with the electricity - circuit breaker kept going off, and hot water heater wasn't heating. Jeff diagnosed the problems and replaced outlet that had a short cutting off power to 3 rooms, and replaced heating element in hot water heater (so we did not have to get a new hot water heater).

 + 0 moreWe had the exterior of a former house painted. We were so impressed that when we moved, we had the crew paint our new house. A year or so later we had them paint inside rooms (remove wallpaper--the works) and they did an equally professional job. Definitely worth the money.

He explained everything that he did and showed us his work when it was completed. He is a nice, pleasant fellow and we have spoken to him about doing some additional work in the future.
Description of Work: Jeff checked three outlets that we were concerned about and made sure those were okay. We wanted a few additional outlets installed which was NOT an easy thing to do as this was in a finished basement area. He had to do a bit of work to get them installed.

 + 3 moreHe was excellent. He did a lot and he did a great job. He was wonderful. He was accommodating. I live 2 and frac12; hours away so I couldn't be there. My mother has Alzheimer's. He needed to be inside the house to do the bedroom and the only time that I could take my mother away was on a weekend. We compromised and I took off a Friday and he took off a Saturday and he did the whole room in 2 days. He was very sweet. I hope to hire him back to paint the house next spring. If he was around here, I would have hired him to do work on my house.
Description of Work: I had J-Tech do some work on my mother's house in New Hartford in October. He replaced a fill near the foundation of the house, replaced fascia along the roof line, took down an old awning roof and did all the repairs from the damage that it had from the snow and he took out old sheetrock and put in new sheetrock. He painted a room that had been damaged by snow.

 + 0 moreThe contractor did a very good job on the room including laying the floor down. He put new walls up and a new ceiling, switched the washer and dryer from one side of room to the next and painted the room. He also put up a new ceiling fan and molding around doorways and windows. We were very pleased with his work but when we told him about the crackhose pieces with the extra pieces we had bought of the flooring and he kept saying he would come, but he never did. After several calls to him, I got the message. And he lives pretty close-by.
Description of Work: Had a room totally redone.- In doing so, he caused a crack in the flooring that he laid by the threshold strip he nailed into it. We called him several toimes to repair it and he kept saying he would come but he never did. Otherwise his work was very good.

 + 3 moreAll jobs were handled very professionally and timely. All jobs look great and he managed to always stay within his estimates. The insulation has already contributed to a 26% reduction on the first monthly billing. I find his estimates to be very fair.
Description of Work: Jeff added about 9 inches of roll insulation to our current 2-3 inches in the crawl space(attic). He did it quickly in two days and the house is a 4 bedroom colonial. He also re-directed two shower vents from venting into the crawl space to the soffits. Other jobs he did included repairing and painting all exposed wood on the exterior...purchasing and mounting a new garage side door. The last job he did was to replace the damaged porch post..reset a new one on a cement foundation that he built. He then covered the post with new wood and painted that.

 + 3 moreIt went the best I could ever imagine. I can not say enough about J-Tech. anyone is welcome to come and look at my home and garage and all the detail work that was done. Jeff put a lot of thought into the many obstacles that came up that he was not expecting when he gave me the estimate. I still was not charged extra for any of them either. This was a very large task for a single mom to take on and putting this all into Jeffs hands made it so much easier. He did everything as if it was his own home.
Description of Work: I received an estimate from Jeff to do siding on my 1923, 2 story bungalow house and garage. This was not an easy task let me tell you. He was comparable in price to the other contractors but I was not just looking for the right price. I was looking for "TRUST" I not only got the best quality work, siding, carpentry, door installation and gutters installed. Jeff was in-tune to every detail to make my house look as good as he possibly could. " He made me laugh, he said it was like putting "lipstick on a pig" and that it was. The house was in much repair with shake shingles falling off, dropped porches etc. When all was said and done, my home and garage look brand new. Before he completed the job he made sure he went around and did all the finishing touches. I have gotten so many compliments. Not to mention Jeff had to work around the terrible summer rainy weather and flooding at my home. When ever I would ask him to do something or I would change my mind he would just answer" OK, it's your house" !!!!! I not only got quality But I received the trustworthy contractor that I was looking for. I would recommend J-Tech to anyone. I was a pain and I am sure he is glad to be done with me but I do miss him, very very nice and honest person and that is very hard to find these days. When he says he's going to do something he does it !!!! Thank You Jeff and I wish you well.

 + 0 moreJeff took what little time he had to examine the hot water faucet leak. He managed to get the sleeve and handle apart from the wall to find a rubber washer completely worn out. He replaced the washer and put the handle back on. We tested the faucet and the leak was completely stopped. I will likely have this bathroom remodeled and Jeff has agreed to sit down with me and give me his price quote. Plain and simple, I trust him. Using Angie's List for this repair and finding Jeff was a positive experience. I give him high marks for all aspects of the job.

 + -1 moreJeff did a preliminary visit to produce an estimate; once he did so we scheduled the work (about 5 hours worth). I was very impressed by how careful and meticulous he was; he took the greatest care to do all the work cleanly and precisely and didn't cut any corners. He was very responsive to my questions and requests as he did the work and was more than happy to give me good advice on proceeding with my mostly DIY kitchen remodel. I recommend him highly and will definitely consider him for a larger renovation project.
Description of Work: As part of a kitchen remodel, I had Jeff install ductwork for a kitchen ventilation and install the range hood. The hood was on an interior wall, so it required opening up the ceiling, running about 12 feet of duct, and venting to the outside. I also had him tap into an electrical outlet to power the fan.

 + 4 moreReceived a quote from Jeff in April which was much more reasonable than any other quote I got. It took him a while to return my phone call, but once he started work in June he was at my house every day including some Saturdays and Sundays. He was easy to talk to and took any changes I made in stride. He only took a few days off to do a smaller job here and there which is understandable considering the large size of this job. He obviously knows what he is doing and everything he completed is really great. I was impressed with his attention to detail. My house looks like brand new and I am thrilled with the completed product. Will definitely call Jeff for any other work I need done.

Description of Work: Gas oven won't light. He removed parts to see exactly what wasn't working. One of two items could be problem. He went to the parts store and they advised him which one was causing the issue. Back with part in 20 minutes. Replaced the igniter and made sure it worked before putting all back together.
