+ -1 moreThey came to install bay windows in my house. The workmanship was fine, it was the quality of the product that was not worth what I paid for. After we called after the window is done and installed, I have not received a response from anyone. I would just like someone to come out and see the work done. After the owner of modern window and his rep Paul have responded . Their company has been a pleasure to deal with thus far. Paul came to our home and checked The product installed. He took photos and sent them to the manufacturer. the manfacturer agreed that the product is faulty, and have dec ide to replace all again. so far so good. this will be the third window installed here looking foward to third times a charm.. We wish we could get something for our time and have been unable to paint /stain the inside since it still is not complete from june.This should be considered from the manufacturer only since modern windopw can only install the products they recieve.

+ -1 moreThey came out last month. It was an outrageous price for 3 windows replaced and a couple of kitchen windows. They would not work with us at all. They were very polite and knowledgeable. They were a good company, but overpriced.

When we met with Norm, we enjoyed his presentation and detailed coverage of the windows. We were impressed with the quality of Vista windows. Jim worked with us and we appreciated his time in answering the questions we had. If the brochure had been available at the time, I sure it would have helped us in completing our decision to purchase easier. We can't say enough about the crew - Dave, Noel, Jim and Joe. They were very proficient installing the windows, even in the adverse weather. As expected with an older house, when they ran into a problem, they knew what needed to be done and went beyond what we would have expected to install the windows correctly. Impressed with their courteous conduct along with their concern to keep the dust and debris to a minimum. They worked very well together to accomplish the installation as quickly as possible, making decisions as a team. Their expertise was apparent. Will definitely recommend Modern Windows to friends and family.

+ -1 moreThey are very good. They are very nice people. The guy came us and give us an estimate and everything. He is a salesman. He is very good. He is very thorough. He explains everything and then they guys that they sent out to install the windows they were very thorough. They went right ahead and did their job the way they were supposed to and installed the windows just like they are supposed to and took me through and show me how to operate the windows and take a part just case you have to clean how to drop them down becuase they are double hung and everything and any questions I have and if I have any questions in the future I am more than welcome to call them they said. I would use them again in the future.

The installers who took out our old windows and installed our new ones worked together almost silently as individual parts of one well oiled machine. Each man knew what the others were doing and what they needed to do to help and support the others in each of their tasks. They were professional, courteous, and they cleaned up any mess the created, which was almost negligent. We will definitely be calling Modern Window back to replace the oe last window in our house, as well as the windows in our garages that also need to be replaced.
Description of Work: Modern Window replaced several of the old windows in our house on two separate occasions. We were so happy with what we got the first time that we called them back about 4-5 months later to have them replace some more for us. The first time was in April 2012. My wife saw Modern Windows' display at a local Buffalo home show. A wonderful sales representative (named Garth) came out and their prices were much lower and quality much higher than previous windows we had purchased for a previous home from William C. Rott and Sears both. Garth wasn't pushy. He was up front and honest, first and foremost, as well as being extremely cordial and professional. They replaced several windows and installed a beautiful bay window in our south facing kitchen so my wife had a place to put all of her plants. The woodworking on the bay window was extremely well done. I only had to stain it and put some polyurethane on it to finish the great bay window and prepare it for all of my wife's plants. Those windows all cost us $7414. They replaced 3 windows in all. The bay window was the most expensive at around $5000, because there was no existing bay window, so they had to build the exterior frame for it jutting out of the house, including a shingled roof on the top and enough support on the bottom. The bay window itself actually consisted of three windows in all: one large picture window about 4' x 4' and two double-hung sliders on either side. They also replaced our 50 year old, very leaky front living room window which is at least 10 feet wide and 6 feet tall with double-hung sliders on either side of a large picture window, and another window like this in an upstairs bedroom. We were so happy with the windows that we called them back in the fall of 2012 and had 5 more windows replaced, leaving only one existing bay window in our 2400 SQFT home. That time the price was $1978. They gave us the 30% discount they quoted us the first time, since we were existing customers, as well as timing our install to coincide with another one of their factory's volume discount specials that we had taken advantage of the first time. We will definitely call them back to replace our one last remaining bay window.

+ -1 moreI received a phone call from them six months following the home show I attended and put my name in for an estimate. I agreed to a visit from them, and the representative spent a lot of time describing the company and the product. He demonstrated the product in my home. I loved the product, but I thought the price was high, and it is a bit of a pressured sales job. However, I knew they were the company I wanted, so I signed up. Within 1 week, the engineer came to do exact measurements, and three weeks later, my windows were in. I love my windows. The crew who put them in were very professional and covered my carpets for protection; they did a very clean job. The installation went a lot quicker than I thought it would, so that pleased me, too. I have two more large windows that I might have done and would not hesitate for a minute to contact Modern Windows again. Product is of the highest quality, and so are the employees.

+ -1 moreSales / Estimate Process: Estimate process was thourough and lenghty. A salesperson visits the house and demos the windows and thermal / construction properties. The estimate was detailed and clear. Pricing was complete "out-the-door" cost which I appreciated (with hindsight). There was no add-on costs during final billing. Install: Seasoned crew did excellent work and finished the removal & install in about about 3/4 of a day. Workmanship on interior wood trim & exterior aluminum flashing was excellent. They did not run into any issues during install. Final Billing: No surprises, it matched teh estimate. Other: The work crew did acidentally scratch my harwood floor. As you can imagine, I was initially very upset and refused to make final payment.. However, after discussion with the owner Richard Adamski, I made final payment and trusted he would stand by his word to fix my floor. To my surprise the very next day a floor repairman was out to make the repair. The floor repair work was excellent and left no noticeable marks. I can say from experiance, that Mr. Adamski is a man of his word and that is refreshing now days. Post Repair Follow-up: The one nice touch is that someone will follow-up with you about every 6 months to see how the windows and work are. I find this to be excellent post completion customer service. However, they also do try to sell you additional windows becasue they have a special sale going on. This part I am not in favor of and would rather I initiate the request. Overall: Other than feeling like they are a lttile agressive in thier sales approach, this company is trustworthy, has a great replacment window product (rivals Simonton vinyl), and does excellent work. Their pricing may be a littel high, but it has been a little over a year and I have had no issues to date. They also have an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. Thank you Moden Window!
