Contractor met with me first to discuss needs. Communication was excellent from the beginning. Went over options. He then contacted supplier and obtained samples, including a special deal on in-stock shingles that he could get for us; we did not take this deal but appreciated his efforts to obtain cost savings for us. Once shingles were chosen, met again with contractor to sign contract and to provide upfront costs for materials. He ordered materials and debris removal dumpster. He arranged for delivery of all materials and the dumpster on a convenient day and then came to the house to oversee this delivery involving three different vendors and three different truckloads. Contractor and his team began work the next day. They were punctual for all of the next week and worked diligently throughout. Clean-up was thorough and on-going. Every member of the team was cordial and careful. A bathroom was made available to them and was always treated with care. Communication with the contractor was on-going; each day he kept me up-to-date on progress. If any difficulties arose, I was informed so I would know how they intended to handle them. We made one amendment to the original contract, having intended to do just the roofs of the porch and the pool room, but it made sense to do the back of the house as well. Contractor provided a cut in labor costs if we could see our way to do this, rather than put it off until spring. We agreed and are glad we did. Some shingles were left over and the contractor arranged for the supplier to take them back, for which we will be repaid. The supplier did not show up to do this during the week, so I called the contractor and within a short time he called me back to tell me why they had not picked them up and to say that they would do so within the current week. In summary, this contractor is of the old school: he believes in customer service and satisfaction. We are extremely happy that we hired him.
