1. He started the work in August 2016. It is over a year and the work is not completed and he's disappeared. 2. He took our new front door and never returned it. 3. He never installed the bench; never replaced the front door; never replaced the radiator. 4. He doesn't pick up or return phone calls and doesn't repond to emails. He has told us he was coming to finish multiple times and just never showed up.
Description of Work: We hired Pat to remodel our entryway. Very basic work: remove a closet, put up drywall, install a bench, install tiles, and replace an old radiator. Total cost $6,000. We added on replacement of our front door for an additional $1,000.

Business is unwilling or unable to complete project per contract, quoted at 4-6 weeks duration start to finish, dependent on weather. Project has lingered for more than 9 months, without any foreseeable end date. In addition, the following concerns have been identified: - Poor quality workmanship, contractor unresponsive to requests for remediation. - Contractor is unreachable by phone, text, email. Does not respond to requests to meet and will not provide an estimated completion date. - Incomplete work is exposed to weather elements and may cause unintended internal damage to home. - Work area likely to continue to deteriorate to dangerous conditions over time: example, scaffolding may fall and cause human harm. - Complaints from neighbors having to deal with construction dust and an unsightly view for far too long. - Restricted use of our home, causing emotional stress on entire family. The following describes items remain outstanding in more detail: 1) Outside room, paint and trim - incomplete 2) Roof & siding, painted brown, gutters - not done 3) Columns and replace/complete stone curb to new stair post 4) Removal of scaffolding & final grading 5) Deck: 2 post bottoms need replacing due to cracks. Complete trex replacements, column trim, remove paint spots, and cosmetics. Paint wood underneath behind lattice. 6) Inside room - Window doesn’t close properly, needs adjusting. Floor is bowed, what can be done? Ceiling is bowed, what can be done? Complete trim, closet organizer, doors, barn door.
Description of Work: Pasquale (Pat) Mignone of Able Construction & Design Contracted to Extend/Expand 3rd bedroom & Replace old decking with Trex. Project estimated to be completed in 4-6 weeks. We set up a time for the owner to arrive and provide a bid on the job. He came a little late but nothing to be concerned about. he was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. When he was done he told me he would have the bid for my in three days. I sent him the layout via email as well so he could refer to it when bidding. I called left a message after a few days and never heard anything back from him. I would have appreciated at least a call back if he wasn't interested in the job. Honestly, Im a professional as well, and customer service is everything.

Overall it went very well, but HOW it went well is worth reading, since it started off poorly. Due to a mix-up at his office, Pat showed up at the address on the Angie's List account, and not at my house, where the work was to be done. I had set aside an afternoon and arranged my schedule to meet him and show him the job, but of course he ended up calling me and telling me that he was on the other side of the city. Before he called, my blood pressure started to rise, and smoke began to come out of my ears, since I have had too much experience with contractors who don't come, don't communicate, etc. HOWEVER! When he made contact and understood his mistake, he immediately apologized. My blood pressure began to normalize. We decided to reschedule for another day. He called back and offered to come in on a weekend to do the work, so that I would not have to adjust my work schedule again. I opted for a week day, for personal reasons. Then he emailed me and told me that he would refund half of my coupon (I had bought six work hours for $200) due to the inconvenience he caused me. Well, that was a very welcome gesture, and I was happy to get it. He came on time to the 2nd appointment, he had his equipment and his helper, and they worked diligently and without pause for the whole time. Their work was good. I was happy. I ended up having them stay an extra hour each to do more work (for a fee) since the job was bigger than I expected. I would hire them again. I liked how he handled his original error, and I liked his work. His product was good, and his work ethic was good. In fact, I invited him to come to my place of work to give a job quote for painting services.
Description of Work: Stripped paint off a dining room table and several chairs, sanded them down.

a protective tarp was never placed over the framing. most of the framing was rain damaged and had to be redone. contractor was very unresponsive and cell phone messages either full, no call back or delayed call back. there were 2 construction violations that were never cleared or fine paid. his workmens comp insurance ran out causing more delays. 30,000 dollars of windows were delivered and are missing. an independent inspection classified the quality as poor and value of the work at 150,000 dollars. he was paid 360,000 dollars. i tried to sue him but he declared bankruptcy with approximately 210,000 dollars of my money missing. repairs to correct poor construction and rain damage have cost me another 40,000 dollars. lawyers fees have cost me another 50,000 dollars.
