The contractor signed a contract, accepted half the money up front plus material costs. The contractor then executed only enough work to make the job legal and proceeded to abandon the job site completely. The contractor made no response to inquiries. Ultimately, small claims court found against the contractor. The county sheriff is handling the effort to recover some of the losses.
Description of Work: Pavers were to be laid for the covered walkway that leads to the main entrance of our private home.

We have work under way. We paid half up front. They were not doing a very good job, so we decided cut back the amount we wanted done. They have all our money now, since we re-wrote the contract. We have paid them for things like expensive pavers, etc. They have since disappeared with our money, and we are not able to get a hold of them. I call them several times a day, and leave messages to hear nothing back. I would have them finish the work if they could, or get my money back for someone else.
Description of Work: They were at our house working. I came outside, and they were gone. They were laying pavers for a walkway. We paid $6,000 for work, and $3,000 for pavers.

Not good at all. The drains don't drain, they are fake. The concrete was cut deep enough the place grates but the water has no place to go. The patio is uneven, not level looks terrible. There was no cleaning. Dirt and pebbles everywhere. I say dirt because they didn't use paver sand so there is nothing between each paver. Its a total nightmare!
Description of Work: They were hired to install two drains in garage floor, add a section of paver to a patio. About a four feet by thirty feet. The whole patio was to be acid washed and scrubbed brush.

It looks HORRIBLE. All you see is block (darker) in spots where they didnt cover it. It is thin and brush strokes are everywhere, not the smooth and dark surface I requested. They used approximately three or four bags and only one and a half small bottles to color it the dark gray. I am embarrassed by how my house looks. My husband and I called him numerous times and told him we were not happy with the job and two weekends in a row he said he would come and look at it and discuss it. He never showed up either time. I am on my way to small claims court and see if I can get my money back so I can get another company to do the job. My husband says he doesn't even know if it can be corrected or gone over. We are sick about this as it is a new house.
Description of Work: I asked that the block and mortor under my house be stuccoed. He said he did that and that he had a better stucco (stronger) called Fibercrete. Since he had done the block and mortor job successfully albeit more expensively than it should have been, I agreed. He asked if I wanted it smooth and I said yes. It is a stricly decorative thing and I said I wanted it the same or darker than my charcoal gray house. My husband said that he did NOT want the joints of the block to bleed through and if those requests were met we had no problem with the fibercrete.
