In the 2 years ive been using him for my pool needs. Hes always done a fantastic job.

Do NOT use this man " Joe Whoston, The PoolMan"!! He is a CROOK and a ConMan.!!! He was referred to us by a friend who had used him . He was supposed to open our pool and change the pool liner in time for our daughter's graduation party on May 28th. We had originally contacted him last fall. In early April I stupidly paid him a hefty payment that he asked for $2850 which he then promptly cashed as soon as the bank was open. After that it was one excuse after another to keep postponing the date he said he was coming over. He would frequently say he was coming over on a certain day and then just not show up without any notification or explanation. As our graduation party got closer we began to realize that he probably was not going to come despite promises that he would not let us down. Two days before the graduation party my husband and I frantically scrambled to open the pool ourselves and clear it before our party. At that point we gave him an ultimatum to either return our money, or to provide the contracted service within a week . Since then he has not returned our calls and does not answer his phone. I am going tomorrow to file a complaint against him in small claims court, although after reading the last person's review I am doubtful that I will ever see the money again. I wish I had seen that review before I contracted with him.

It went awful. Joe took $1000.00 of our money as a down payment for the purchase of the pool cover and then lied and dodged our phone calls and emails for the next month as we waited for the supposed pool cover to come in. He would tell us he was coming over on a specific day or in a specific time frame and then never show without any contact. When we finally did get him on the phone, he told us that the down payment that we gave him was frozen in one of his accounts and he could not access it and the pool cover had not been ordered. We then had to pay for the pool cover outright and weeks later he installed it, subtracting a small sum from what he owed us. He owed us hundreds and hundreds of dollars back, which, to this day, we have not seen. This all started in October 2015. He gave us so many stories about his problems and his life, but also continued to lie to us about finishing the service that we contracted him for. He told us things like his reputation was important to him and he wanted to pass this business on to his kids, but he has yet to make good on his debt to us. We offered him many opportunities to make this right and he has not taken any of them. We recently took him to small claims court (which he did not show up for) and there is now a judgement in our favor against him. Please DO NOT use this guy for anything as he in dishonest, unreliable and unprofessional.
