There was a delay of several weeks from promised delivery. Smiley said that it was because we'd had a lot of rain and he couldn't get into his wood lot (too muddy) to load the wood, which is understandable, but I had to call him to find out where the wood was. The wood is fair quality compared to what I've purchased from others. It's seasoned hardwood, but it is split strangely (lots of gnarls and twisting in the grain, with odd shaped pieces that make it hard to stack or split further).

Smiley is an enjoyable character and he delivered a full five face cord at the precise time he said he would. The wood was clearly cut over one year ago so it should burn hot and clean. His price was competitive and he honored the 5% discount he offered to Angie's list members. I expect that I will purchase from Smiley next year and would recommend him to others.

I've worked for tree companies in the past and these guys are the best. All the wood that was provided is good wood, it's all hard, good wood. He came when he said would, which I greatly appreciated and brought exactly what he said he would. These two things are very important to me.

He is cheap, honest, and a hard worker. His name fits him. I used to work with him a UPS. He doesn't climb trees, but has a crew that will.
