Great! Claudia saved the day!
Description of Work: Selling my house and needed some repairs to meet buyer'S inspection. Palmer di a good job. At the last minute there were some issues and Palmer took care of them. More important was the customer service from Claudia. She went above and beyond to straighten out an issue with National Grid that had nothing to do with their work. The work was good but Claudia is amazing! She even followed up the next day to see that all was taken care of!

Description of Work: upgraded my electric from a 60 amp service to 150 amp service. Corrected a wiring issues from electrical work done incorrectly by another provider. Moved my meter to outside. Grounded my electrical service. Palmer was very nice to deal with. Communications were prompt and professional. The electricians were professional and the price was fair. They walked through my whole upgrade and answered all questions without issue. Thanks for the great work and customer service. I will recommend and use Palmer electrical in the future.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your experience with our company. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you. We apologize we could not meet your expectations, however; we take each experience seriously. After researching this job, the following was noted on the account. The call came in as an emergency call as the customer only had 1/2 power and lost their water as they were on a well. Our tech on call responded immediately and was on site within 1 hour. After diagnosing the issue, it was determined that the main electric service was severely antiquated and in need of replacing. Our tech informed the customer that a complete new service could cost a couple thousand dollars and offered to "temp" the service just to get the water going and since was on emergency rates in order to save her money. He indicated even what was required to temp in would be roughly $500. She was all for the temp as she indicated did not have the money and desperately needed her water. Incidentally, all of our jobs require signed work orders PRIOR to any work being started. It shows the rates and COD payment terms. The customer approved and signed our work order. The work was temped in and water was working. The customer paid by check which was less than the $500 stated. After our office deposited, it was returned for "closed account". Our office learned that the account had been closed for some time. So the customer intentionally provided a check from a known closed account. Our office left several messages to no prevail of response. Finally when our office left a more serious message on her answering machine, that the authorities would be contacted for intentionally writing a bad check, she responded and paid by credit card. Never mentioned anything about any issue or having us back out to permanently fix. It is no surprise to learn the temp fix didn't hold up as it was temp fix as she was told and approved and noted on the work order. Description of Work: Blew us off 3 days in a row. We made appointments, waited for them all day and never communicated until end of day to say, "sorry! we screwed up and forgot about your appointment!" | |After wasting three days waiting for them, we found someone else to do the work. Can't speak to the quality of work but punctuality, responsiveness and professionalism were very poor.

Description of Work: I had a new main panel installed and the ancient old panel converted into a sub-panel instead. Now I can add circuits with greatly reduced risk of frying myself. | |I gave a B on punctuality because the work ended up lasting from 9:15 AM when the one tech arrived until 9:30 PM before he was done and wrapped up. Power was therefore out around 11 to 12 hours. It seems like it should have been a two-man job - I wasn't pressuring to get it scheduled early or anything, I could have waited if it was a tech availability issue. | |The work itself was done pretty well, only some minor cosmetic issues here and there in terms of scrapes on the service insulation and a cracked ceiling board over the panel that is minor and I probably won't bother fixing. The tech missed turning back on my water heater breaker so I had to wait a bit the next morning to shower, but no big deal. | |Overall really only minor issues, I was happy with the work performed and the price was excellent for the amount of work that had to be done.

Thank you for the business of your quoted project and your A rankings. Note this was only one man work due to the close proximity of the work in nature. Two men would have been bumping into each other. Also note this was a quoted lump sum job. There were issues with the job that took longer than expected and estimated where we actually went over in hours than quoted and because it was quoted customer was not charged for the additional hours required. Not sure about scratches as this is the first we have heard this. We do know however the ceiling in mention is a very old partially covered ceiling section in an unfinished basement area that customer stated he was removing and wasn't worried about it as discussed with estimator. The project went very well. They were extremely clean and efficient, they were on time, and they did not dilly-dally. They make one mistake, but that was easily corrected. They chipped my wall when putting in a switch, but I told them not to worry about it.
Description of Work: Palmer Electric put in new spot lights as well as some new lighting fixtures in the ceiling. They also did all of the appropriate wall switches.

They could not find anything wrong. Only other option we were told was to have every outlet looked at, I cannot imagine how much that would cost.
Description of Work: Checking our circuit breakers as lights tend to flicker on first floor on a irregular basis, but when they flicker it is annoying. We already had National Grid out to look at everything first. They charge a dispatch fee of $55.00. The gentleman was here for 1 hour.

Unfortunately a service call does not always ensure we will find a stubborn problem, Especially if the problem is not occuring at the time of service. 90% of the time we are able to find or rectify a problem within the 1/2service call. We are just as frustrated as any we we cant as we all take pride in out work.. 90% of our customers are return customers and we certainly give it a 100%.

It was worth the cost, as he checked everything and told me what to watch for.
Description of Work: I had some sort of electrical incident at 11:20 pm that caused my smoke alarm to go off. The smoke alarm stopped by itself but I did smell smoke. Having handled multiple house fires claims from electrical arcing, I was concerned. I checked Angie's list and found Palmer. The technician, Jason, returned my call and talked to me for some time. For my own peace of mind, I asked him to come out.He told me their hourly rates for night time calls. He arrived promptly checked everything out and found no problem. He checked what I thought was another problem and that was simply fixed. He was polite and courteous and even denied that I was the stupidest customer that he had ever had when I asked.

While I wound up choosing another contractor, I remain extremely impressed with their performance, punctuality, and professionalism. They were willing to go the extra step to help, and were very honest and up front about potential costs, potential hidden costs, and the requirements of the job. Very impressed, and would recommend!
Description of Work: I was searching for bids on electrical work on my home, and called Palmer for an estimate. Not only was the contractor highly professional and thorough, they were very patient and accommodating regarding my questions and changes in the scope of the project.

This was an emergency Saturday morning call as my electricity had gone off in 1/2 the house - leaving me with no refrigerator or stove. I called them at 8:30 am, got a response from a technician w/in 10 minutes, Chris arrived by 9:30, had replaced the main breaker and was gone before 10:00 am. I really appreciated the rapid response time. They will need to return to take care of the main cable as water is getting in at the roof - this work requires that the electric company turns off the power and a permit will need to be obtained - We hope to have this done soon. I really appreciated rapid response and professional attitude.
