We were very disappointed with the job and thought it to be a very expensive day.
Description of Work: We originally contracted for 4 high hats to be installed in the kitchen ceiling and 3 plain sockets in the backsplash to be changed to ground fault sockets. In the dinette section we had contracted to have 2 new lines with sockets installed. We were unable to have the high hats installed because we didn't have the height in the ceiling which upset us. We believe it should have been tested out before we were given the estimate. All the work that was done that day was putting in one new line with one GFI socket and changing out the 3 older sockets to GFI sockets. The lines were already there. The wall in the adjourning bathroom had a hole put into it while installing the one line so we declined have the second socket installed.

Bi-County was dishonest since they charged us for work that they never performed and we were misled by Bi-County since they claimed they could certify satisfactory work in writing, yet Bi-County sent someone who was not authorized to issue a certification, albeit the primary reason for our call was to obtain certification in writing. Moreover, when we requested our money back Bi-County was arrogant, discourteous, and rude. We will never use this firm again. Never pay for work in advance.
Description of Work: On October 30, 2012, Hurricane Sandy flooded our home to 4 feet above the floor and caused loss of electric power. A LIPA representative advised us that we had to have an authorized electrician certify in writing that our electrical system was in satisfactory condition before our power could restored by LIPA. On Thursday, November 8, 2012, we called Bi-County to have them certify in writing that our electrical was satisfactory. After Bi-County's electrician checked our electrical, he charged us $275.00 for the work. We enquired about certification in writing, and he responded that he was not authorized to issue a certification, but that we would have to pay $125.00 for the certification portion in advance and someone else would come by in a few days to certify the work. In the meantime on Sunday, November 11, 2012 another LIPA representative, going door-to-door, examined our electrical and certified that our electrical was satisfactory to have our power restored. We called Bi-County on Monday, November 12, 2012 to advise that they did not need to send anyone to certify our electrical, since LIPA already did so, and we requested the $125.00 for certification returned, since Bi-County did not perform this service. Bi-County refused to refund the $125.00.

Response from BiCounty Electric
Bi-County Electric was contacted by Mrs. H on November 7, 2012 to have the electric checked at her residence due to flood damage. An electrican was sent on November 8th and checked out the wiring at the house in order to have the power restored. Our paper work was then sent to the Electrical Inspection Agency to certify that it was safe to have the power restored. That certificate then was forwarded to the L.I. Power Authority by our office. Bi-County's fee of $275.00 included all of the above paperwork and the service call. We were subsequently contacted by Mrs. H on November 12th requesting reimbursement of the fee since a Lipa representive, going door-to-door, had already just done so. We explained that all the paper work had been submitted by us and we would not be able to reimburse the fee. We were not rude or discourteous in any way. Mrs. H became accusatory and confrontational and did not choose to understand the course of events.

Good company
Description of Work: Installed 4 motion sensor outdoor light and replaced another fixture. I was familiar with this co. from work they did at a relative's house. I had 3 estimates - by far this was the lowest. Response to all calls was quick and work done neatly and professionally-no cutting corners.Definitely will use again.
