Dumpster Central

Description of Work: The company lied by promising delivery on Saturday. No contact from anyone with this company until 5:30 P.M., after leaving a message on the company's answering machine, threatening to report the company's fraudulent conduct. The representative, James, advised on Friday that I would receive an email and that this email would require me to type-in my name. I never received such an email, but they did run my credit card anyway. Stay away. These folks are dishonest.

Description of Work: I rented a dumpster from Dumpster Central to put dirt into. They were very nice until they got their money and from then on it was a nightmare. I don’t remember the exact date but one day in the week of September 3, 2012 I asked Dumpster Central to rent me a dumpster and stated that I needed it asap. They said fine, I could have it later that same day. They said it would be late in the day but they would give me a $20 discount if I could wait until later in the day. I said fine. The next morning it was not there yet. When I called and said I had men waiting to put dirt in the dumpster they said they would hurry. Toward the end of the day I checked and they said sorry but they were busy and too bad if I was inconvenienced but their agenda was more important than mine. (Not those exact words but close). The next morning I still do not have a dumpster so I call to complain and I am told that I have to just wait until they get around to it. I am building an addition for a handicapped person who tells me that I should put the dumpster in his handicap parking spot for the few days that we are doing the hand excavation for the job because that is the closest available spot and will minimize the distance the workers have to push a wheelbarrow full of of dirt. Although he asks me to get rid of the dumpster as soon as I am finished with it. At this point I send an email to the sales staff of Dumpster Central threatening to report this incident on Angieslist and Yelp and anyplace else I can find to complain. Finally that afternoon the dumpster arrives but the sign on the dumpster is some other dumpster company’s sign. The sign says 1-800 DUMP TRASH. It is at this point that I realize that Dumpster Central is a company that brokers other company’s dumpsters. I believe the premium I paid by using this broker was $100. That’s a wasted $100 no matter what. On Sept. 13 I call 800 DUMP TRASH ask to have the dumpster picked up and I am told that they would pick it up but it would take a few days. On Monday the thirteenth I call 800DUMP TRASH and they tell me this time that I have to call Dumpster Central. I ask why didn’t they say so in the first place but they have no explanation. I call Dumpster Central and they say they will pick it up later that day, the 18th. The next day I call Dumpster Central and they say I have to sign a form before they will pick up the dumpster. I remind them that I have already paid for the dumpster and a form at this point is silly and of no value to anybody except perhaps for some clerk who might get yelled at for not following proper procedures. I tell Dumpster Central to pick up the dumpster asap once again. By now I am yelling. The next day, the 19th, a form shows up in my email from Dumpster Central stating that the dumpster is paid for in full. On the 20th the dumpster is still there blocking the home owner’s handicap parking spot so I call and complain and the agent tells me that it will for sure be picked today. Today is the 21st and the dumpster is still sitting there in my clients handicap parking spot. Dumpster Central says they are sorry but they have some emergency and they won’t pick it up until Monday. By now I am not only shouting on the phone but I am profane because I don’t like getting screwed due to somebody’s indifference. As of now, the 25th of September, the dumpster is still not picked up. I have called at least 3 times per day since the 18th and they stated every day it will be picked up. This is the absolute most terrible business I have ever experienced!
