They were very friendly and professional, courteous and prompt. They even pointed out some other problems they found while in the basement such as the hot water tank that was previously not vented properly into the chimney, which they corrected for me and didn't charge me for. They explained all the features of my new fireplace and called the next day to ask how things were going with my new fireplace. It is beautiful and I'm 100% satisfied with the product and the job they did with the installation.
Description of Work: I purchased a top of the line Escape Gas fireplace insert to be installed into my existing wood burning fireplace. Strenkoski Brothers came out to measure my fireplace several times to ensure an exact fit. They were very courteous and professional. The installation took one workday. They removed the old fireplace cover, wired electric, connected a gas line and inserted a chimney liner and the gas fireplace insert.

The quality of their work, the stuff still looks great. I don't have any cracks in my driveway, the sidewalks are still leveled, even from block to block on the driveway, I have a snow blower and it's still so leveled that my snow blower doesn't catch on the blocks. I'd highly recommend them. The only problem I had with Strenkoski was I booked the job in May and he didn't come until the second week of October. It was a week long job, it was a big job and you needed to clear a week to do it. He was here a full week. They had to probably clear a full week on their schedule to fit me in. I was happy with his price. He was here when he said he would be here but I didn't like that it was four and a half months to wait for the job but I wasn't in a huge rush for it. I would use them again.
Description of Work: I had a driveway, sidewalk, a step-pad and a raised patio.

They are very busy so it took a bit of time to get a date for the repair and installation. They did a fabulous job. Excellent work. Very professional.

Our house was built in the late 1800's, and I think this cement was at least that old. Strenkoski Brothers and their team carefully measured the old sidewalks, and made suggestions about NOT replacing certain sections due to drainage issues and non-use. For example, one section ran next to our old carriage-style garage toward an area which once held an old chicken-coop. We surely don't intend to replace the chicken coop, neither did we need to pay for a sidewalk-to-nowhere! So they offered to remove the old sidewalk and cart it away with the rest of the old cement being removed from the rest of the job. It was actually their idea to remove it, and they could have easily given us a price to replace the sidewalk-to-nowhere ... but they showed interest in doing the job correctly, and they even suggested we might want to extend the garden out into that area where once the sidewalk stood. We greatly appreciated their interest in our property and the fact that they made suggestions for improvement rather than trying to do more work than we really needed. For another example, we had one oddly-shaped area around the side porch between the back stairs, an in-ground well, and a cellar door ... all very old with no consistency in shape. With having to work closely to the original well still in the ground, they showed us where they didn't want to compromise the integrity of the well but would work as close to it as possible while protecting the walls. We had a similar situation near the cellar stairs which had a very old tornado-type door protecting the stairs, all of which ran right next to the back porch and stairs. In all of these unique locations, the work was completed carefully and neatly, leaving us with our own improvements to complete with the door and well at a later date, but with sound concrete now supporting both areas. Also, our back porch had been slightly leaning, but after they installed the new back stairs, the porch is well supported by the new stairs which were built up to the porch level for stability. Also, the oddly-shaped sidewalk between all these areas was laid with a lovely circular border instead of the odd shapes, and now everything seems to be connected and aligned perfectly. Our old sidewalk running from the carriage-style garage all the way to the house was set very low into the ground. In fact, you had to take a step down from the level of the driveway to get to where the sidewalk started next to the garage. The company representative pointed this out to us and suggested building up the sidewalk higher to be the same height as the driveway, then gradually inching downward to connect with the area by the well and back stairs. I was concerned it would look like a ramp. However, instead of just replacing the old sidewalk at the old lowered level (which would have been easier and less costly for them), they knew how it SHOULD look when done correctly. So they pounded in a few stakes, extended some twine so I could see what they were talking about, and I then understood better. The final job was great! Finally, as a disabled individual with mobility issues, I was very worried about getting up and down our stairs while the concrete was setting up for a few days after being poured. Appreciating my concerns, the company originally suggested a ramp, but walking with a cane or a walker, I was very worried about falling down. So instead, they structured their work, cut out and laid the front stairs one week, worked on part of the back sidewalk, let all of that concrete set up for multiple days over the weekend, and then started on the back steps the following week. When the time came for the old back steps to be removed and the new concrete poured, the front steps were just fine for us to use safely and soundly. It would have been much easier for them to cut out everything at once, pour all the concrete at the same time, and just install a ramp in the back. However, they customized the job into smaller sections and respected my dignity and concerns about physical limitations. These were true gentlemen from the initial appraisal and start of the job to the finish, both in their treatment of us as customers with special needs and in their treatment of each other on the job. (I never heard any cursing or inappropriate language from anyone, and all the workers seemed to be appreciated by their supervisors for their talents and dedication to the job). Everything was cleaned up quite well, and now we have a lovely front and back sidewalk and stairs, plus space for a newly expanded garden by our garage which we wouldn't have even thought of without their suggestions.

This is a stone chimney that was leaking water all the way to the ground. One week after estimate and proposal, they began the work. These guys did an impressive job. They not only did all they said they would, but did extra work by pointing other areas of stonework on front of house. Theye were very prompt, very neat, and very professional. Excellent workmanship. They finished the job in 2 1/2 days. Would definitely call them again. (No more water leak! )

I could not imagine a better experience from any contractor. The owners are personable, regular guys that explained clearly what had to be done and did it extremely well. The time frame was exactly what they told us it would be and they were able to juggle a few things so that my chimney repairs could be done just prior to a new roof being installed. Because they were ahead of the roof work, they left the flashing for the roofers to button up and explained to me exactly how it should be done and what to look for. He offered to come back to inspect after the roof was done (and fix if necessary) but that was not necessary. His crew spent a few long days on a hot roof but were also some of the nicest guys. Since I have an older brick house, matching the chimney was difficult but he gave me a few places to check and when I found a good match I simply told the yard that he would be by to pick them up, and he did - EASY. The work was done just over a year ago and still looks awesome. The edges are crisp, the cap has a nice bow to deflect water, and the mortar was raked nearly flush (which he explained would help with shedding water). Looks good, no water penetration, no problems. I would DEFINITELY use them for other brick and/or concrete work.
Description of Work: Tear down old chimney and rebuild new. This included some new flew piece, cap, step flashing, etc
