The Drain Doctor came out to the house in less than 2 hours. The service tech was very knowledgeable and courteous. Drains were cleaned quickly. Would definitely use them again.

The tech was able to snake out enough silt to get the drains to move water again. He was upfront about the fact that it might not work but he would give it a shot. He also recommended a hydro jet cleaning. We'll be doing that soon.

If you think you need a new leach field or septic tank, call Brundage first. We thought we needed a new leach field, as "water" was collecting on one side. Every other place I called suggested redoing the whole system, field and tank. Most others didn't even bother to come look. They just said "replace it. That will be 8,000-10,000. Want grass planted over the top? Add 1,000." I called Brundage, and I am glad I did. They were very responsive on the phone. Bonnie gave me a valuable education about my septic system, and told me who I needed to contact to get a map of the entire septic system, and what steps I could take to reduce the cost of them servicing our system--in other words, WE dug the holes and provided access to the top of the septic tank and our distribution box so Brundage could do the work.. We went and bought a new distribution box cover too, on Brundage's advisement. Ours was crumbling. We were happy to do it. It saved us a lot of money. Brundage came right out to my house to have a look. They identified the problem and, at the time of service, resolved it quickly for a reasonable amount of money. They didn't push for work we didn't need. They didn't come out to actually fix it for months because it was such a wet Spring in 2014 and Brundage prioritized customers in emergency situations (septic back up into the house etc.). They followed though on their commitment to get the work done before winter, which is what I had asked. They pumped and cleaned the tank and cut about a 12-16" hole with a six inch riser and concrete cover, which we can bury. They adjusted the distribution box flow regulators, and now water flows evenly though our leach field, resolving our problem. (We put the dirt back over the box and the tank.) It is now a year later. Our leach field is much drier, and we can mow over it normally. No more yucky water collecting on one side. We have a small tank for our household size, so we need to get it pumped yearly. The large access hole will help ensure that it can be cleaned out right. (Before there was only a six inch opening to send the hose down.) Thank you Brundage!
Description of Work: Cut hole in top of septic tank to provide larger pump-out access; added riser and lid; adjusted outgoing septic flow regulators in distribution box to distribute water more evenly throughout the leach field. Pump out included.

After an intense rainfall our basement flooded, before draining, but not before destroying our hot water heater. Despite many other people in this area in the same situation, the company was easy to contact, came promptly, told us exactly what had happened to the hot water heater, and efficiently and quickly installed a new one while taking the old away. They really helped turn what could have been a truly miserable experience into a short inconvenience.

They were the only ones that could come that Sunday and they knew it. They immediately asked me how much was another company charging me to come the day after and charge me $100 more than that at $650, although their regular during the week rate was about $400. The service was described by another company as lasting 2 hours but they took only 30 minutes and it was not their policy to guarantee against further clogs within 2 years like the other company. I advice people to do their homework and ask about pricing and options before scheduling an appointment with area plumbers. It was also worthwhile to keep an eye on the lowest drain point in the house to spot trouble early before it is too late and you are at the mercy of this and other plumbers.
Description of Work: I called Drain Doctor specifically to do a high pressure flush on my main drain line which was plug. Myself and another plumber (who charged me $400) attempted to unplug it unsuccessfully using a heavy duty snake.

. Went well. We called - the next day they showed up - they unclogged the drain - we were happy.
Description of Work: We had a clogged mainline and after I tried to snake it myself a few times we called JA Brundage because their sticker was on our plumbing and also after reading some reviews on here. They called before they were on their way and they arrived on time. Their service coordinator was very polite and helpful. They sent out their high pressure water jetting truck and a very professional plumber. He ran the system and very quickly it unclogged our drains and pulled out the clog. He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and was very friendly. One thing we should have done was inquire about the pricing prior to setting up the appointment. The high pressure jet system costs more than a regular snaking (although it does a much faster and more efficient job) and fortunately they were very reasonable with their charges for us.

The service people arrived and spent approximately 15 minutes using a high pressure water hose to "unclog" the pipe. This was done almost immediately, although no real inspection or drainage test of the pipe was carried out. I was then presented with a bill for $516.00 (including tax) for this service despite the fact that one of the service people told me there was little or no obstruction in the pipe. I thought this amount was absurd and, following consultation with their office, I was given a revised bill for $282.00 which I paid. I feel that this company attempts to charge far too much for services rendered. Furthermore, they should have given me an estimate up front whether I asked for it or not; I would never agreed to pay over $500.00 for this service unless it had been demonstrated that the high pressure service was indeed necessary, which may not have been the case.
Description of Work: This company was called to determine if a landscape drainage pipe was clogged because water was backing up following heavy rainfall. The person who took my phone call and set up an appointment did not give me an estimate for their service (although I should have asked) and no particular service was agreed to.

Response from BRUNDAGE J A DRAIN DOCTOR
Another plumber was at his home and could not open the line. That plumber recommended calling our company. When a line cannot be opened by another company, high pressure cleaning is necessary. We successfully opened the line and charged the customer for a high pressure cleaning. When the customer complained about the price, we gave him the high pressure cleaning at half our regular price.

Somehow the office criss-crossed my needs with another customer's( I'm guessing here). Serviceman Chris arrived and thought he was unclogging a toilet. He was pleased with the different assignment, as I would have been too. I told him I had told the office it was a case of flushing the toilet which resulted in a cascade of water into the basement. Fortunately, the water spilled on the surface of the sewer pipe until it curved, right near the sump pump well. He had me flush while he watched the result and he agreed, there was the water coming down. He turned off the water, took off the toilet, said the problem was the seal (which I had done with a friend a year ago) was not squished down. Apparently it took that long to announce the problem. He put on a new seal, placed the cumbersome toilet on the new seal and it was a little off balance. This created a mini creek which started in the bathroom and went into the front hall. He lifted the toilet back off, ran to his truck, got a massive sweat shirt he keeps for these events, and swabbed away. I grabbed a mop which took care of the rest. On the second try using another new seal, the toilet placement was correct. He apologized several times for the leak and I had no problem with it at all. The charge was about half of what I saw on Angie's List for the same work by a different company. I had no problem with that either.
Description of Work: Replaced the seal under the first-floor toilet.

The sewer had been clogging fairly regularly (four times between Thanksgiving and mid-January.) I rented a sewer snake from home depot and unclogged it on previous occurrences, but we felt something big must be wrong. So we checked Angie's List to find a plumber that did video inspection so we could get to the bottom of the issue. I emailed the address on the company's website and got a reply within a day stating that they did do video inspections but it would require a cleaning first, which should cost up to $150.00. Then they would determine if a video inspection would be necessary, which would cost another $150.00. We set a date and they said they would call when they were on their way. As promised, I received a call saying the guy was on his way. Mike was very helpful and patient. Seemed like he really wanted to solve the problem, not just get the water flowing and run off to the next job. As I had done this so many times before, I hovered over Mike and told him what I had done before and he (patiently) explained to me what he was doing. The things he told me helped give a better understanding of what I had done wrong before and that the system wasn’t actually in really bad shape. Rather, he believed it was the kinds of things were flushing, like quilted TP and baby wipes. These don't dissolve and were getting stuck to the rough sides and joints of the pipes. That, combined with the incomplete job of cleaning I had done likely caused the recurrence. He said that he did not believe a video inspection would be necessary, that there was no need for me to spend extra money for something that was not necessary. He spent about an hour working on the sewer making sure it was clean in both directions. The actual bill was $135.00, which was under the estimate I was given over the phone. Bottom line, I will call Brundage Drain Doctor any time I need this type of service in the future. (And I will ask for Mike!)

We began having an issue with getting hot water in our shower. Sometimes we would get warm water sometimes we would get cold water but never hot. We had plumber 1 out and he ripped apart the mechanism that turns the shower water on and off - we paid no resolution. The next plumber said that he could not figure it out, but it was possible that the hot water tank needed to be replaced. After weeks of luke warm showers we agreed that the we would replace the tank. After that we still did not have hot water. At this point we have already invested $550 in the problem. ur neighbor recommeded the drain doctor. They came out quickly and the plumber was very personable. We explained our problem and he joked that he would definatly figure it out. Within 10 minutes he found the issue and was just a valve on a pipe directed the wrong way. He fixed it with his hand and we had hot water immediantly. We have had the drain doctor out for some other minor issues after that and have had 100% satisfaction. They are our plumber for life!!!

We have a small tank relative to our house/family size. We called different septic places to come and help us figure out how to lengthen the life of our septic system. All the other companies told us to replace it, but Peter gave us several different options for lengthening the life of our existing system. We have used them for 5 years to maintain our system and are very happy with the service.
Description of Work: I have used this company to have my septic tank pumped and also had a terralift for my sand filter. Peter from this company has pumped our tank for the last 5 years. He is very knowledgeable and honest. He saved us thousands of dollars 3 years ago by giving us an alternative to having the whole system replaced (terralift). I highly recommend this company.
