The cable wasn't wasn't shorting while on site so everything checked out ok for which we paid ~$90 just for the site visit. He did verify at least that there was no problem with the stove itself. We found the problem ourselves later and were able to repair it ourselves.
Description of Work: We had a problem with a short with our stove's electric cable.

I am very sad about this review. I really liked Bob and Michele and thought they provided a very reasonable estimate and seemed to know their stuff. I looked forward to having them upgrade my electrical service and replace some wiring and various other tasks. But the whole experience started off on the wrong foot. Bob was scheduled to come look at the job to give me an estimate. When he didn't show up for the appointment, I called and he told me they got stuck on a job waiting for NYSEG. I told him I understood how those things could happen, but a phone call would have been helpful. He and Chellie came the next day, looked over everything and promised an estimate. I had to contact them to get the estimate. When it arrived, by email, I immediately let them know that I wanted to hire them, but didn't hear anything from them for several days. I called to make sure they had received my email hiring them and was told that they had. Bob said Chellie would call me that evening to set up a schedule for the work. That call never came. After a week and a half later, I emailed again asking when we would schedule their work. After four more days I finally heard back. There had been a family emergency, which I could understand - though a quick phone call or email would once again have been helpful. A day was scheduled ten days hence on a Thursday at 9 a.m. I contacted Bob on Monday to make sure we were still on schedule and he said we were and that he would contact me Wednesday night if there was an issue. Thursday 9 a.m. came and no Bob and Chellie. I tried calling Bob's cell where I was not able to leave a message, the home number where I left a message, and the second number here on Angie's List where I left a message. Finally, between 11 and 11:30 a.m. I received an email from Bob stating they were running way behind and that he had sprained his ankle the day before. Had a phone call been made Wednesday night as promised, I could have been flexible once again, but my whole day was thrown off because I had expected them to come do their work. At that point I decided that I could not work with them. Again, I really liked Bob and Michele, I found them to be professionally knowledgeable, and looked forward to working with them. I just found them very unreliable when it came to meeting promised deadlines and appointments.

Very well. I appreciated the level of professionalism and courtesy. They did not show up when they said they would, but called us twice to make sure that we knew they had an unavoidable delay (I thought it was a good reason and appreciated them calling to make sure we knew about the delay). They showed up in plenty of time to get the jobs done, and were extremely thoughtful and thorough. They also made a point of cleaning up after themselves very well. They provided a detailed contract first, which promised to not go over a certain amount for the services we wanted. As it turned out, they charged us less in the end, because they took less time to get the jobs done. In fact, we added a few jobs along the way, and they still got them all done in less time than initially predicted. They seemed to be good people, and we felt we could trust them. They also seemed to be knowledgeable, competent, and very ethical. These are things we look for when asking someone back to work for us again. We are pleased and are already planning on using them again.
Description of Work: worked 10 hours on numerous upgrades like new light fixtures and outlets. They also closed out a plug or 2, and checked a number of plugs for safety. They hung a few chandeliers on super high ceilings, and other tasks. We just moved here and had a list of things we wanted changed and upgraded. The cost above is for the labor only. We purchased most of the supplies ourselves, and they gave us a receipt for anything they purchased for us on the way to our house.

I called Bob too get an upgrade on my existing service from 100 amp too 200amp, he was upfront and honest from the get-go about pricing and came below what I was expecting, even noticed a couple of odd things that he fixed and I didn't get charged for them, because of safety of my family, he fixed it without hesitation. I will definitely call him back when I need something done.
Description of Work: Installed a complete 200amp service.
