SWAT Enviromental aka/Air Quality Control Agency is, in my opinion, a total scam. But don't take my word for it. Contact the Radon Division of the Bureau of Radiation Protection of your local government for an apporved list of providers. Here is how it works. All other providers guarantee safe levels of Radon for your initial price. If the need to modify their sytem, they do it for free. SWAT Environmental hits you with a low price. Then they charge $149 for a service call and much more for additional work. My home has 3 slabs that needed ventilation. They hooked up only 1. My Radon levels were still 10x too high. I contacted the BBB. SWAT agreed to waive the $149. service fee. They came out and determined I needed all 3 slabs ventilated and they system moved to a new location. No kidding. They charged me another $497.00 to do what should have been done right the first time. And after all that money I still have dangerous levels of Radon! SWAT also told me I needed a larger fan for another $195.00. The Bureau of Radiation specialist told me you never need a larger fan and it can actually draw Radon into your home. The BBB gave the company a successful resolution simply because they came out for a service call for free; even though the system was incorrectly installed. In fact, I needed to move the entire ystem to a new location in order to access all 3 slabs. The bureau also told me this company has been banned in Ohio for their practices. They have numerous web sites and locations, so it is difficult to know who you are really dealing with. Do yourself a favor and get an approved list of Radon Mitigation contractors. And avoid SWAT Environmental at all costs.
